This season marks his third year as a pro and his second as a controlled player. He was promoted for the first time on June 14th and completed the entire season without being removed from the roster. He recorded two wins (one loss), including his first pro win, with 11 hold, four ERA, and a career-best ERA of 1.87.

This season, he studied under Kuri, a first-year FA transfer from Hiroshima, and Iwasaki, a mid-season trade signing from Chunichi. I am grateful to them because they changed me. If I had to choose a trigger, it would be those two,” he said.

When asked what he plans to do with his pay increase, he smiled and said, “I’d like to use it to buy parts to modify my car.I’m still driving it in its original condition.I’d like to change the muffler and lower the car a little.I’d like to buy wheels and use it for various hobbies.”

After the season ended on October 30th, he underwent arthroscopic removal of osteophytes and loose bone fragments from his right elbow, and is currently undergoing rehabilitation with the aim of making a comeback. While it has not been decided when he will be able to resume throwing, he emphasized, “In terms of my condition after surgery, it’s not that bad. I would like to resume as soon as possible.”
