40公里訓練 導航 電話 來自高馳APEX4的曠野氣息
Hey, friends. This morning on my day off, I took a relaxed run around Osaka Castle for a few kilometers. Today, I made plans to have breakfast at Starbucks with my spouse. She said she would call me when she arrives. The call’s coming in, the call’s coming in. Look. Hello. Are you done with training? All done, all done. Where are you? I’m on my way to Starbucks. Okay, I’ll be here at Starbucks. I’ll wait for you outside. Alright. Can you hear me clearly? It’s fine. Put it on speaker. Hey, everyone, good morning! Look, I just got my APEX4! The last time I used the APEX was at the 2022 Beijing Marathon. Before that, it was the APEX 2 Pro. It’s been three years. We are putting on the next generation APEX 4. Let’s see how it performs. Let’s go. Friends, guess where I am. Century Park. My first run with the APEX 4. We’re doing a long distance run. Today, it’s just the APEX 4 on my wrist. I deliberately didn’t wear the POD. Nor did I wear a heart rate strap. The current temperature in Shanghai is 25 degrees Celsius. Let’s see how it performs with heart rate. Let’s go, go, go. Reuniting again after Sydney. Yes. Finally, we can train together again. I’m so happy! Indeed. Only 39 kilometers left to finish today’s run. We’re almost at 30 kilometers, everyone. The last kilometer was 4 minutes 21 seconds. Everyone has already passed 35 kilometers. Only less than one lap to go. Let’s go, let’s go! The average pace so far is 4 minutes 31 seconds. That’s already quite fast. Everyone, cheer for us! Go for it! Bo Ge. Hello. Hello, hello. Xin Ge, hello. See you up ahead in a bit. We’re almost done running. Okay, okay, see you up ahead shortly. Alright. It’s finished, it’s finished. It’s done. Thank you, thank you. Thank you all. Thank you all. Thanks. Brother Xin has arrived. See you in a bit. I’ve also arrived. 4 minutes 21 seconds. Friends, on Saturday, October 4th. At 10:32 in the morning, training is done. 40 kilometers, my average pace is 3 minutes 41 seconds. It took me 3 hours, 59 minutes, and 89 seconds. Average stable pace was 4 minutes 30. Fastest kilometer was 4 minutes 03. Average heart rate was 155, burning 2,304 kilocalories. Total elevation gain was 71 meters. Performance rating at 102%, training load at 416. Look at our pace. Everyone can see it on the screen. The pace has been increasing. Increasing to this point. It particularly coincides with my 35-kilometer gradual acceleration. Finally added up to 37 kilometers. We continued from 32 kilometers all the way to 37 kilometers. Then we tapered off again. Maximum heart rate was 174. Finally dropped back a little. That’s good, that’s good, that’s good. Most of the time in the aerobic endurance zone and aerobic power zone. Stride length was 1.09 meters. Ground contact time was 174 milliseconds. Vertical oscillation ratio was 5.8. Vertical oscillation was 6.3 centimeters. That’s good, from 4 minutes 56 seconds starting to 4 minutes 23 seconds ending. Very tired after looking at the earlier data. Friends, the APEX 4 isn’t bad. Today’s control group is the Garmin 970 and HRM600. This side has a single display. Let me take a look at the average heart rate for the Garmin 970. The average heart rate here is 155 with a maximum of 174. This range is quite good. This side has a single display. My wrists are quite thin. This watch is actually more suitable for off-road activities. It’s better for those who enjoy outdoor adventures. Because they tend to be a bit sturdier than I am. Today’s training is quite extreme. Let’s take a look at the navigational capabilities of this watch. We’re back in Osaka. Friends, we’ve returned to the familiar Osaka Castle. In this location, we’ll run from here to the banks of the Yodogawa River. This route is the same one we took during that 70-kilometer run. It was the road we took out of Osaka Castle. Do you all remember me saying how hard it was to recognize this road? On the way back, without a car to guide me, I wouldn’t have recognized it. Fortunately, I had a car to bring me back. This time, we’re letting the APEX 4 guide me. The route has been pre-set. Let’s take a look. We’ll start the navigation now. The star search is also very fast. Let’s first check the feel of the map. Use the knob to zoom in and out. And now the map has street names. Did you see that? There are names for the rivers. We can minimize the street names. Let’s take a look at today’s itinerary. Soon, we will head that way. We’ll run along this small river all the way to Yodogawa. We’re currently 4.34 kilometers from the finish line. The latest APEX 4 has added a shortcut key over here. During exercise, you can switch between the map and watch face with this button. When on the watch face, it returns to the previous mode. The knob allows you to change to different watch faces. This makes it much more convenient to operate. First, you don’t have to keep selecting and searching for the map. At the same time, it doesn’t interrupt your workout. During exercise, a long press on the return key. There will be a marking point feature. Add the current location. We can make a voice mark. We have arrived at the edge of this small river. If you follow this river north, you’ll reach the Dainagara. We are off. The recording has been saved. At this moment, we are moving backward. Press this shortcut again. Switch back to the map. Let’s set off, go! That’s the Mint Bureau. The riverside is quite beautiful. Look at this area of lotus leaves and that big bird. Let’s take a picture here. We will include it in our activities. Then we will add a marker here. This place has capybaras. In summer, we found two here. Later, a few more little ones joined. Probably a whole family. Didn’t I mention a deviation warning earlier? Now that I’m back, the watch immediately beeps again. It tells me I’m back on the correct route. We have reached the first fork in the road. I need to see which way to go. On the left side here. Let’s go. It tells me to turn right ahead. Sure enough. Get ready to turn right ahead. It tells me to turn left ahead. Did you see that? That’s good. It informs me to go left again up ahead, and then turn right. The navigation’s responses and alerts are quite clear. When it informs me, it’s similar to a car navigation system. There will be a marker. This is an artificial beach. But this is a river. Look at this. There’s even a restroom here. Let’s mark a restroom here. Look. When we long-press to mark, we select the marker point to add the current location. There are default options available. We can set this as a restroom. Then we can add a voice note. There is a restroom here. Also, there is an artificial beach by the river. This place should be great for bringing kids to play. Or coming here in spring or autumn. Marker completed. Let’s continue our journey. Let me know when to turn left ahead. There’s a convenience store here. Hey friends Look over there, there’s a Lawson convenience store. Did you see it? This is the Japanese Lawson. So on the map, you can see where the convenience stores are nearby. Here we have a restroom. Let’s mark the restroom. Look here, friends. This is the birthplace of Osaka’s water supply system. Let’s take a photo here. Alright, let’s make a voice note here. This place has a monument marking the birthplace of Osaka’s water supply system. It’s a commemorative monument. This is the first time I’m using its microphone for recording. I’ll check the sound quality when I get back. Let’s go, we’ll continue our journey. Let’s speed up a bit, friends. Let’s go! There’s a wide-area evacuation site just ahead. Let’s move forward. When we reach the shelter, let’s take a photo to mark the spot. This is basically what we need to say. There are many small sculptures shaped like pandas here. Like this kind of park in the middle of the street. It can turn into a shelter when there’s an emergency. We’ll mark the spot and take a picture. We’ll directly label it as a shelter. We’re heading to a place called Maoma Water Gate. That location connects to the wide Yodogawa River. It connects with this tributary. Once we get there, we will reach our destination. Be careful, there’s a car behind us. This place is called Maoma Water Gate. We have arrived at the riverbank. There’s a very steep slope ahead. Are you nervous, photographer? The photographer is riding a small folding bike. The photographer can’t get up the slope. The photographer is unable to ride up. Let’s take a couple of steps. We’ll be there soon. The riverbank is built quite high. Look at the little houses down by the riverbank. Wow, friends! We have arrived at our destination. Actually, we’re still a bit short. Let’s check out the high view first. Let’s see the river scenery. This river is the Yedagawa River. This spot here. Look at the place I’m pointing to. This is where the 70-kilometer checkpoint was that day. At this point, we’ll turn and go that way, let’s go. Let’s continue full speed to our destination. Come on. We’ll see how the watch alerts us when we arrive. We’ll turn down this way. To the spot I just pointed out. That’s where I set the endpoint on my watch. The watch reminded me to turn left. Alright, the watch has beeped. Arrived at the destination. Should I end navigation? Here, let me show you all. Should I end navigation after arriving? End navigation. And then the exercise won’t stop. This is to test the watch. Our overall average pace is quite slow. Because there were pauses in between. I didn’t stop the timer. But I feel like this is just for fun. Whether it’s hiking or not. Light trail running or not. Or this kind of exploration too. It’s not necessarily about achieving a result. It’s actually about having an exploratory mindset. You see, the family member is cycling while taking photos. They’re also sweating a little, just like me. Now we’ve entered early autumn. The weather is really nice. It’s very peaceful by the river. I’m especially happy. 4.35 kilometers in 47 minutes and 47 seconds. Average pace is 10 minutes and 59 seconds. Let’s quickly check our phone. Synchronization is already complete. Let’s take a look. First, let’s add those photos we just took. So that I can use the phone’s built-in system for the photo album. I shot everything with my phone. Using my phone allows me to import the photos. Let me show you. It will pull in all the photos from that time period. Let’s select all. I only took two pictures of this big bird. I’ll keep one. Confirm. Just like what Nomad shared last time. It not only supports photos. It also supports videos under one minute. All the great photos have been uploaded. Wow, so beautiful! Let’s check out the spots we just clocked in. The first marked point. I marked a small river. I said I’ve reached the river. I’m getting close to the microphone. Let’s see how this sound is. We have arrived at the side of this small river. If you follow this river north, you’ll reach the Yodo River. Alright. I marked this place along with a photo. Two photos. Look, this big bird and this one is nice. Check out the UI and its interaction design. Let’s continue to look around. Almost every place is like this. See the marked restroom? There will be a restroom symbol. Then, what I marked What is this marking of mine? Let’s take a look at what this mark indicates. It surprisingly recognizes a monument. Because what I selected is indeed the marked location, right? Friends, I always choose marked locations. The family members nodded. It can recognize what I say. That’s interesting. Because the first two things I said were related to water. It identified it as a stream. This was recognized as a monument. But in our selection options, there is no monument. Right? There is no monument. The only point it might optimize is when the photo overlaps with the marked point. The place where you click to select. But it should be quite accurate now. No problem You just need to zoom in on the map I’ve taken three photos of this place Look, it’s in this spot I want to click on this marker It needs a little adjustment, and it recognized it successfully Maoma Water Gate And the four characters are correct Of course, it may have the assistance of the map It just so happens that this place is written in simplified characters like this Actually, I just discovered that At that time, I recorded that this place is called Maoma Water Gate It can recognize my voice into text like this You see, this place is called Maoma Water Gate And below it says 3 meters above sea level Maoma Town, 1-Chome, 22 Ban Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan Okay, and then that’s the destination We have arrived at the banks of the Yodogawa River More than 4 kilometers This season brings a slight sweat. The overall wearing experience of the APEX 4 is quite good. Since starting with the APEX 2 Pro, I began to try the APEX 4 series. I believe that the watches in this series strike a balance between road running and extreme trail running. It’s an outdoor-oriented design. Compared to the pure road running Pace series, it sacrifices a bit in thickness and weight, but it gains a stronger outdoor feel. And it also has better battery life. Although it is slightly heavier, it remains very comfortable to wear. I’ve mentioned more than once that nowadays some watches can be quite heavy, but you don’t really feel it. This is because the comfort of wearing differs. Also, the silicone strap on this watch is something I usually don’t wear much. Everyone can see But why try this? It’s because this silicone strap has a special design. It features a curved shape. And it also has sweat channels. So when you sweat a lot, this design helps to wick away sweat effectively. Moreover, this silicone strap is comfortable and doesn’t pinch. This large metal buckle holds quite securely. It doesn’t pinch at all; it’s quite nice. At the same time, the navigation system actually feels a bit like a car navigation. I didn’t even look at my phone the whole way here. Partly because the map is sufficiently detailed. Includes street names and nearby buildings. Sometimes when you get here, even if the road ahead isn’t clear, you can look up and see. This Lawson This Lawson It seems to confirm that you are right. Looking ahead then looking again at the turns At the same time, it reminds you to turn left or right a few meters in advance. Or right front, left front. This is also very sensitive. The most important thing is this. Just this kind of map. On one hand, it is fast. It changes quickly when you are moving. And when you turn the knob, it responds immediately. On the other hand, there’s the APEX 4. Everyone should have noticed this. You have seen it. It’s the m screen. Regarding the m screen and the a screen, I discussed with my friends from Coros. We can’t say one is more advanced than the other. Or that one is necessarily better than the other. Different scenes Different applications and different environments The feelings differ from one another Plus, there’s personal preference At least, in my view, the M screen performs well against glare and in this when exposed directly to sunlight it looks quite good However, its absolute stunning quality is not as good as the A screen But I think it is a versatile option You can always see clearly while looking at it After returning from Edogawa, let’s summarize this APEX 4 with everyone I think after three years the evolution of this watch is quite evident Whether it’s during the 40-kilometer road running training in Shanghai Century Park or activities like today where we casually explore a new route or discover a new place Whether it’s navigation or music or battery life and operational experience, the APEX 4 has seen significant improvements. As Coros said, the APEX 4 is not just a watch but a companion for exploring the world. In the end, I wish everyone to live life to the fullest. Stay healthy and safe. See you next time.
