On August 19 at Jingu Stadium against the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, Tokyo Giants outfielder Yoshihiro Maru (#8) hit a home run, single, double, and triple to complete the cycle.
With this accomplishment, Maru became the 72nd player in Japanese professional baseball history to record a cycle hit, marking the 77th occurrence overall.
