Wayne, you want to talk about a baseball being squid, the presence at the plate, lights tower power, everything you need. One of the best power. Ball got out in a hurry. [Applause] So, it’s two to two. A couple of hard hits for the Phillies in the first four innings. Well, they didn’t miss the one. Yeah, that’s a four seen down people in baseball. That’s a double in the gap. But because Schwber is so strong, there’s no ballpark that can hurt him to make the catch for the first out of the inning. [Music] Had stood up on him. Looks like a two seamer Ashley that didn’t have that change and Wells even knew it. This list hammered. Here’s Castillanos. Two to two. Schwarber with 35 homers now. He’s the first Philly to win one since Johnny Callison, who had a walk-off homer to end the 1964 All-Star game. You see that face one of the bench coaches is making. Oh my goodness, he’s got to be so mean. This is what he can do. Well, looked like it was still going up when it went out. a little really an interesting career trajectory as Castanos flips one to left center. Bellinger a good jump and a good outfielder makes the catch for the second out. For whatever reason they non-tendered him after the pandemic year and he ended up in Washington and he went to Boston and self on a 500 homer career path. you know, Hall of Fame talk starts to get interesting around him a thousand% because done in his career the strength and it’s not it’s a meaning of a chance. His postseason numbers are pretty good. on 2015. He had the most home run as this one is fouled by part of what the Phillies have done over their postseasons as well. He had five home runs in the NL series in 2022. So 21 career playoff home runs for Schwarber on top of all of the regular see him in another uniform. I mean, you know, with the the way this roster constructed, you’re going to have a chance to be in the postseason. Power pressure off of Bryce Harper and company. Just don’t see him leaving. [Applause] Schwarber now with 10 home runs in the month of July. Nice tied with Aueno Suarez and Kyle Sters of the Mariutoto sends one over the shorts stops head into left center field and he has a two out single. proud of the fighting fish and they have some talent, but it it’s difficult when you hear some of their trade pieces or but that’s always been the business model over there. And so hopefully they can continue to develop some of those guys who has a single and a walk tonight as he looks at a strike in the two Philly outfielders Marsh and Kepler. The two of them have hit a combined 147 over the last 15 games. Although Marsh does have a hit today, you feel like they’re going to bring in an outfielder. It has to be somebody in the outfield. But but see that’s with extra team. Do you want to give up some of your high value prospects? We keep hearing that about it sellers market. But you look at these what the Mariners got for Naylor. A thousand% you know in situations with the diamond. That is a foul tip I guess for strike three. He’ll throw to first just in case. But that ends the inning and it’s Kyle seasons. Well, 76 players have had at least 1500 played appearances in that time. And in that time, you know, the bat just hasn’t come. And I guess it’s a question of expectations versus reality involved. But is he good enough? I believe he’s good enough. It’s just a down year. And I think what you’re seeing from a university when everybody is critical of you and I think what’s happening as an athlete is he’s taking his bats out. It’s almost like fighting in quicksand. The harder you fight, the worse it’s getting. He squares up a baseball, finally squares it up to right. It’s for batting average. And now we’re almost close to being able in August. And so it’s frustrating, but I think that’s what Yankee fans want to see. They want to see some urgency. They want to see some play with some passion. Bryson Stock gets ground pick out of Southeastern Louisiana University in 2021, but performed really well in the minor leagues. Had six strikeouts in five and a third innings in that game. and he’s made now 22 starts. A cog in this Yankee rotation, especially as they’ve dealt with Garrick Cole being out for the entire year. Luis Heel and Clark Schmidt was back for a little while, but now he’s going to be out for the foreseeable future with Tommy John. Serge Boone comes to the mound. Excellent two seam fast ball. Yeah, this is a high leverage guy. Tim Helvis that sidearm very difficult to pick up especially the left-handed batter could have been for Aaron Boone in last year’s World Series. What if he had gone to Tim Hill instead of that’s the situation I mean because that you have a scouting department that was the plan to be able to go to Nest Street. Yeah, it certainly was a historic swing. One and two as Scott lifts one foul and out of play. I mean, you look at that arm angle, it’s very difficult to pick pick up and he has the ability to 10 appearances in the postseason. So, that was a big time weapon for Aaron Boon. And then you look at this trying to pick up the top half of the ball and barrel it stock just trying to stay alive right now. A trade def for him who hoped to be there at the end this year as well. Yeah, you have the Yankees controlling the W. We knew Wayne going into this season that it was not a seessaw battle between them and the New York Mets. Walker has not recorded an out in the sixth inning of a game as a start. He’s only made it through six innings once this year. That was in his first start of the season. It’s been a while. who tosses it to Harper for the first out here in the sixth inning. So Walker, the lefty Bellinger doo hit a homer off of Walker in the first inning. Allowed two runs on four hits. It’s been a good lift here for Taiwan Walker from the Phillies a couple of years ago when they signed him in 2023. He was important for the Phillies that year. Phillies didn’t get a lot of lot out of Walker last year. He’s been better this year. His very first outing of the year back on April 3rd against Colorado. He’s being careful with Bellinger not trying to for the off speed right there that he hit the breaking ball out. That was a split finger. Looks like Belly’s looking on middle but the good depth change down. Three and two and Bellinger golf Bellinger. So for Walker that is seven in a row retired. The last Yankee hit was a one out single in the fourth by Chisum. Taiwan Walker over a couple of prospects trying to lock down the number five spot in the Phillies rot. They need some consistency and somebody they can trust to go to the lineup after the first two home runs. He’s really sad as well with two on Stanton who struck out his last time. Walker living since then and not getting himself in trouble with base on balls. He’s been around the plate all opens up everything and it’s given him a lot of confidence to be able to compete within the strike zone. And once you figure that release point with this 79 pitches, 53 strikes for Walker. You’re seeing it right there. He’s so strong. He didn’t even square up that baseball and he went to right center with authority. It’s his 435th career homer. He’s hit five in his last 11 games and home runs tonight have come with two outs. Taiwan Walker. It’s Tanner Banks on the mound for the Phillies. With Walker hitting a wall, Rob Thompson felt like he had no choice but to go to his bullpen. And he brings out Banks one pitch away from doing that. Made a mistake and John Carlo didn’t miss it. Goldmith hits for the Yankees with two outs in this inning. Chisum singled after the homer by Stanton. Now Goldman a hit. Shot line drive hitting the book being able to be strong enough Wayne to muscle that cutter up in the zone. Good old fashioned hit them where they ain’t at the partner for Aaron Boon and company all season long. So two on now. Wells homered earlier off Walker hit a ball shot. Numbers are so goddy. I mean you they’re hard to miss. I mean at this point now you’re you basically penciling 300 bar is set so high every single year and they’ve seated and so it’s their world. We’re just going to hit the ground. It’s a base hit. Suck man on here in the seventh there and judge whether Aaron Boon wanted to take a look to make sure but Judge did trap it. that baseball to let it drop. As the baseball continued to carry, he figured he had a chance to get it. Baseball. Now it’s Schwarber who had a two-run homer in the fifth inning to tie the game. Now he represents the go-ahead run. No one has done more damage lefty versus lefty than Schwarber this season. Oh, he takes [Applause] Warber with 14 home runs off of left-handed pitchers this year. It’s an enormous total for a left-handed batter. That ball very well with a quick swing. He gets this one sharply and threw a base hit. Turner had a skirt out of the way. There’s three hits tonight. Schwarber now has two and the Phillies have the table set. First and second, nobody out here in the seven in the game. That’s actually a good pitch down and away, but his bats tie ball game. Aaron Boon says if he can get it to his backend relievers, he feels Pitts are in scoring position for the Phillies. Castanos takes ball one. erra over his last 14. A 614 ERA with six home runs allowed. Good block by Wells with the tying run at third pass that plate. [Applause] Sometimes if that ball hits the plate, it can get the ball in front. Two balls and a strike on Castanos as Weieber steps off and around that has started giving up some home runs. He’s allowed six homers in his last 14 innings. Coming home, but he throws it away. Turner scores. Schwarber will hold it third. Castanos barrels into second. The Phillies tie it up and they have runners on second and third. And great base running by Cassini to round first base and put himself in scoring position. That’s a tough play. You also with Paul taking him to second base. So he has to throw across his body. The percentage of him being able to fire a perfect strike to be able to ball. Also, no one was covering first base either. So only had one play. It was to come home. Never got over. Yeah, you also have to get over but he might be in the line of sight. So he got caught watching the play but eats that ball. The ball’s in a strike on Real Muto. And there’s a drive to that. That one’s going to go lead. And Luke Weaver has now allowed seven home runs in his last 15 innings. this one [Applause] the fighting fields and give credit to Ty it over to the Yankees way especially after the first two home runs dug in and really gave his offense the shot to get back on the starter until Wednesday real Muto had not homered in two months now he’s homered in backto-back gets come back this week and what a time for it here with a tiebreaking threerun homer in the seventh Oh, two balls in a strike on Brandon Marsh. Same movie of a a miscue here that extends an inning and continues for the opposition. Q almost looked worse than it really was, but it sets up this real Muto three-run homer. Yeah, he stood up on him too when Well, they felt that all the way back in Oklahoma, man. Judge takes over and makes the catch. That’s the second out of the inning. And I know that’s and it’s tough, Wayne, because sometimes you want to be the hero. You want to make that point. He’s going to look at that play and say, “You know what? I just got to put that in my back pocket. I’m in no man’s land in that situation. But really, that’s been the talk. You think about that and everything they went through and how poorly defensively they played in that game. And now you’re seeing more of the same. This can defend at a high level. They’re just making poor decisions and poor plays. They’ve made nine errors now in the last four games toward the top 10 most errors in the league. Max Kepler 0 for two tonight. kind of in a no-win situation there as right he was off balance to make that throw home even a good throw the eye on that play for Castanos who took second as the ball bounded away bouncing balls the RBI so the error comes on the overthrow which allowed Castanos to go to second there was no and then three RBI’s for real Muto on the next atbat as he had that game tying or rather teen innings yeah that’s more concerning to me because he’s a high leverage guy and he’s somebody that you could trust in the back open but concerning because there’s too many misses within the strike zone and so he’s going to have to make some adjustments in high level situ overthrow allowing Castianos to go to second base that makes all the runs in that inning earned as Vi tries to get one on his bobblehead nine Anthony Vi’s made it a two-run game good for you young man get your foot down couldn’t be the swing to get him going Wayne I felt like he hit a good ball to right hit a line drive the center. It’s like maybe I should have ate that baseball a better throw because of his balance being off. That’s a short stop throw and he’s still on Romano. So now Rice will go to second base. Tapper to first. Handled by Harper for the out. That brings up Judge as the tying run with right. Decision right here. Do you want to pick your poison? One of the best hitters in all of baseball or do you want to go with one of the power threats to the left side. Romano had some good seasons as a Blue Jay. Going to go right at him at least for now. And it’s ball one to Judge on Judge. Ball two from Romano. Good catch by real left hand batters box. Romano actually leads the Phillies in saves, but he’s long lost his closer job. He hasn’t had to save this one off, but now it’s two and two with that max effort fast throw. He pulled last. Now that was a better fast ball that tied Judge up. will be a homer to start the inning. Rice singled. He’s at third. One out. Yankees down by two. The I don’t blame him, man. This is a swing count right here. Make sure that you got enough rods on your hand right judge. Hits one in the air to center. It backs up Marsh. It will bring home a run as Marsh gets it in. It’s a sacrifice fly for Judge and a one-run game as Judge gets the because it’s a mass in the back with everybody on their feet. Slider disengage off the plate and all of a sudden the excellent fastball that was running in on the big man and another slider just caught it out in front just other than a solo home run. Had four solo homers for their first four runs. Now a sack flies made it 6’5. pitcher. You get out of a big situation, quote unquote, you get the team’s best hitter out. Can’t take your foot off the ball, one strike. The Phillies scored four in the top of the 70. [Applause] Swing and a miss by Bellinger. The Philly’s two highest leverage. Imagine we’d see those two in the eighth and ninth innings tonight. Romano trying to get through the seventh. Enki’s got two back. Vulpi started the inning with a homer.
