湯川マサトと【砂漠のWAVEプール】へ行ってきた! #palmsprings #WAVEPOOL #lostsurfboards #surfing #luvsurf #lightspeed2

We arrived at PALM SPRING SURF CLUB. We drove for 2 hours . River, Jay, Masato and Kenta, the cameraman, are here. We’re going to get ready and surf for 2 hours, so I ‘ll have Kenta take some footage of us surfing. Let’s go! We’ll check into PALM SPRING SURF CLUB. This is Masato’s first time. Jay and River have been here a few times. We’ve arrived in the middle of the hot desert. Let’s make this our base for today. Let’s set up. Which board will Masato ride? MOD QUAD. A short board that can be ridden with QUAD fins. A new proposal from Lost. It’s loose and really good, right? It drains a lot of water and can run through carving and rough sections without stopping. I think it’s the best in Shonan, Japan. The waves in California are small, but it rides really well. Masato tested it and we know what kind of board it is, so we’ve decided to sell it in Japan! It will take some time, but we think it will be available for sale around autumn, so please look forward to it. MOD QUAD. This is the board I’m using. This is the board I’m using. LIGHT SPEED II RNF’96. I’ll use this board. LIGHT SPEED II. What do you think? Since my movements are very fast, it’s better for the board to bounce back quickly as soon as I stand up in the pool so I can gain speed, so I chose an EPS board because it also has a fast takeoff.I’ve tried the RNF’96 several times at the PALM SPRING SURF CLUB, but this is my first time trying the LIGHT SPEED II so I’m looking forward to it.How is it different from the LIGHT SPEED? The LIGHT SPEED II no longer has the carbon in the center, and is now made with high densal fiberglass. It ‘s a soft, soft, flexible , soft, flexible board that creates a stable board that doesn’t bounce back.EPS boards bounce a lot, but this board reduces the bounce so it feels good to ride in the ocean, so I thought it would feel good to ride at PALM SPRING SURF CLUB, so I brought only the LIGHT SPEED II RNF’96.I thought the same might be true, so I brought the LIGHT SPEED II SUB DRIVER 3.0.I haven’t ridden it yet, but today is my first time riding it.After hearing Koji’s story, I think I’ll try the SUB DRIVER 3.0 first.I’ll ride the MOD QUAD first, and then the SUB DRIVER 3.0.What about Jay? I have the RNF’96 LIGHT SPEED II.Jay was riding it on the uppers yesterday, and he was carving in a really tight section, with the full rails in properly, so it seemed to have a lot of rebound and bounce back. The color is nice, it ‘s custom, isn’t it? It looks goodWhy did you make the center fin smaller? Let me tell you, it’s TWIN+1, the sides are Mayhem large fins , the middle is MR stabilizer fins, it moves like a TWIN fin, the fin setting is Jay original? Everyone has this set, dad’s fins are a set, right? It’s interesting to use high performance side fins and set the middle on a TWIN stabilizer. Jay is light, so if the fins are big like Koji’s, I think it’s really interesting how teenagers ride this set. Let’s go, Japanese kids. We’ll put on leashes. But it’s really hot. It’s Palm Springs in the desert, so it’s really hot. Jay jumped in. The board he’s riding is the RNF’96 LIGHT SPEED II. Masato and River went too, and Nishi also went in. As you can see, everyone is wearing board shorts. River goes in naked. Masato has a serious look on his face, but Nishi is smiling because it’s his third time. A foreigner is explaining to him from above. There are lines written on the board, and he teaches him various things such as riding from the red line and paddling from the green line. If you listen to the explanation, you will be able to ride well. The board River is riding is a SUB DRIVER3.0 swallowtail BLACK SHEEP BUILT. Masato is also riding the same board. Even though they are the same board, they are the same model and have different technologies. SUB DRIVER3.0 swallowtail BLACK SHEEP BUILT and LIGHT SPEED II. The black board is BLACK SHEEP BUILT and the white board is LIGHT SPEED II. The board I ride is the same as the RNF’96 LIGHT SPEED II stock board that we sell. The board that Masato rides is also the same as the stock board. The board that River rides is the same as the SUB DRIVER 3.0 swallow tail stock board that we sell. The RNF’96 that Jay rides is not a stock board. There are no stock boards of a size that Jay can ride , so we custom ordered a 5’1″ RNF’96 LIGHT SPEED II colored board. The waves at PALM SPRING SURF CLUB are generated using an American Wave Machine, the same machine as that used at Perfect Swell Japan in Shizunami . Even though the machine is the same, the size and distance of the pool are different, so the quality of the waves is completely different. PALM SPRING SURF The waves at the club are onshore and seem to have a lot of wind in them. The way they dig in from the first turn is amazing. It’s not in the video, but it pierced the water and started pearling. River is riding it. River is good at ripping the fin out, so that the fin can be seen on the other side when ripping the fin out. Masato is good at backside surfing. He has a good form for his left hand position.Masato ‘s backsideI like Masato’s backside. The board comes up straight vertically with a snap.It ‘s the river.Watch this.He pulls the fins out well at the top and surfs very softly.I’m an old guy so my body moves a bit stiff. He’s riding well right up to the final finish. The board Masato is riding is a SUB DRIVER3.0 Swallowtail LIGHT SPEED II.It ‘s the river. It ‘s a 5’8″ stock board.SUB DRIVER3.0 Swallowtail BLACK SHEEP BUILT stock board 5’8″ .Nishi is riding a 5’5″ RNF’96, a board made by Lost at an epoxy board factory in Vietnam.Masato is riding a SUB DRIVER3.0 3 good rips! River is really good! Ripping with fins out. Nishi takes off and hits the lip in a good spot on the first one, and just when you think he’s done with the second and third, he falls over. Jay drops, turns at the top, and curves. Curving is difficult. Surfing in a wave pool, you can turn nicely in the pool, but curving is very difficult. Masato’s riding is great! Jay curved well, so the people at the pool praised him. River also curved and ripped. Masato curved at the top just as well, but turning is actually very difficult and I’m trying my best too, but I’m not doing it. 3 good rips. Jay hit a pretty deep spot so he was left behind by the wave. 2nd, 3rd, and I did 3 nice rides. The more I ride the better I get, and this is the backside. When you watch the video of the waves at PALM SPRING SURF CLUB, it looks like there are only goofy and regular riders, but in fact, there is one wave on the right and one on the left, and two regular and two goofy riders can ride it. PALM You can catch a lot of waves at SPRING SURF CLUB. You can catch about 24 waves in an hour. The wave pool at Shizunami is only half full, so surfing at PALM SPRING SURF CLUB is extremely tiring. To go back to the open sea, or to the part where the waves come out, you paddle back along the edge of the pool . There is a close-out section, so you can’t go out to the open sea unless you do a dolphin-through. When the waves are coming out, there is only one wave at Shizunami’s wave pool, and after catching a wave you walk back to the starting point, but at PALM SPRING SURF CLUB you paddle back, so after an hour you ‘re exhausted. We had a session and came up . Masato liked it and was riding it. SUB DRIVER3.0 on LIGHT SPEED II . Nishi’s is RNF’96. It was very hot that day, so he had applied winter wax to his board, but he peeled off the wax and repainted it with TROPICAL . River, what board were you riding? I was riding… This is… SUB DRIVER3.0 Swallow Tail Made in Vietnam BLACK SHEEP BUILTMade in Vietnam5’9 ” It looks similar to Masato’s boardYes , it does look similarIt ‘s a new technology, LIGHT SPEED IIMy board is also the new LIGHT SPEED IIJay’s board is also LIGHT SPEED IIMasato’s board is also LIGHT SPEED IIEPS suits the pool, right? Yes, I can say with confidence that there is no other technology better than EPS for the pool ! When surfing in the pool, I highly recommend EPS boards, so please get one. At first it was really hard and difficult, but after changing to SUB DRIVER 3.0, I felt like it matched the waves, and the sharp board was suitable for the waves in the tight sections. The river was also surfing in a very tight section, and you were doing fin outs, thank you for the fin outs, thank you. When I saw that, I thought, “Ah, I see,” and I liked this SUB DRIVER 3.0. It was fun, but I couldn’t get the timing right . If you’re not really focused, it’s hard in the pool. If you get even a little bit bent, you won’t get the timing right until the end, so if you make one mistake, your speed will stop and your timing will be over, so you need to be focused to do it. It was a lot of fun, and everyone did their best with EPS boards. Here’s a bonus video. You ‘ll receive an email and it will automatically record one video per hour. It costs about 30 dollars (4,500 yen). You can now purchase all the data. It’s amazing, this service is advanced, isn’t it? The American system is advanced, isn’t it? As for the price, it costs 1 hour. It’s $200, or 30,000 yen , more expensive. This is the price in the US, so in Japan you could enjoy an hour for under 10,000 yen. You can’t ride 24 trains, but it’s half the number of trains, so whether you consider this cheap or expensive is up to you. In terms of US prices, the price for an hour is three times as much, but the number of trains is double, so it’s about 1.5 times as much. That’s how it is.
