Kayitani for me he was not only a regular for for the team but uh wow he was amazing and especially his last year you know when I was a kuku when I was a manager his last year he was almost really close to winning that batting title as well but ta today we’re just here to tell you guys you know what was going through our mind back in those days you know I I always thought and and I evaluated you as a 3030 player. You know, you did a 20 2020 in 2000 that was in 20 2017 the year where we, you know, we went to the Nepon series to 2020. But do you feel like that was the best or you could have done more? 30. That’s our voice average [Music] and then next year 202 That’s right. And then I got strike out a lot. 2020 30, you know, when you talk about batting average, of course, you know, walks very important, you know, getting, you know, trying to get on base. Um, you know, just to be able to keep the batting average. You were striking out a lot more than what I thought that you would be. And I was thinking your your defense was really good. Your speed was really good. Striking out a lot. Your your on base percentage was low. I always felt that you could have been a lot better. Do you think do you get uh you do you worked like really hard enough for those like for to to improve these numbers? year home run in 2020. My last year as a country, you know, basically your your one of your best years in in in base war, you know, let the ball get deeper and embodying practice, try to hit the ball over third base head. All right. And by doing that, you were going to be able to see the ball longer and you know, you’re going to be able to walk more. Do you do actually do you think that that that was the reason why, you know, you were able to walk more and your base percentage were higher and your batting average was higher? Do you think that has something to do with that because you let the ball get deeper and your approach was different? I couldn’t practice. I had a feeling and it was really good. And I I think that they had a lot to do with that. Also minor change that you did also was I think that your bat was a little bit heavier and your body stance changed. So you went from before you went from here to just here and just drop your hands going the other way and you hit a lot of home runs opposite field. Minor change help you to get to those numbers. Can you imagine if you would have done that right from the beginning? I mean, you probably still would have been playing, right? You know, I should Yeah, I think you were able to find yourself like that, you know, at the right timing. You know, you you know, a lot of the players, guys, listen, a lot of the players get better after five years, six years in their career. Some players said it takes seven years, eight years. You took about yeah 10 years, something like that. But when you did it, I felt like, wow, this is this is the Kajitani that can be in the in the MLB right now. You know, that was so good. You were so good. You had a tremendous year 2020. But after that, the numbers changed with the Tokyo Giants. Any changes with the Tokyo Giants? Yeah. No, I didn’t was made it was terrible. How was your experience playing for the Tokyo Giants? Great. Good, good, good. You know, I I I play for the Tokyo Giants. Uh, and and I feel that I I learned so much from the Tokyo Giants as well. And I think that the Tokyo Giants is a great organization. And and now, you know, you can see it’s a big difference, you know, Tokyo Giants and the old organizations. Not that the other organization not good, it’s just that there there is a big difference you know when you go there. Do you feel like that focus on they treated me? So, so, so, so great team. You know, when I when I uh and I always say this when a lot of people ask me who is the best Kuku you play for and I always say, you know, Harakanu has been the best Kuku because he really really understands the game. He’s a manager. Harakanu was a kuku decision maker kuku you know and I’m sure that what you experienced with him you know pretty sure that you’re feeling probably the same I mean like the difference between har and different kugus you know even myself you know I learned from him as well you know I I learned so many things from him and I use so many things from him, you know, that I of course on my own style, but I I kind of use a lot of the strategies and stuff like that. Now I I want to I want to talk to you a little bit about this is very important because you know we’re talking about the base war side but guys the fans there are two different s uh fans type of fans but you know DNA based fans are great amazing I love DNA based fun but the giants the difference between the Giants fans and DNA bas fans what can you tell us about that you know that support Giants, but stadium. That’s why they’re waiting. They’re both great fans of course but DNA based fun they’re they’re very passionate you know for the players you know whether the players are doing good or doing bad they’re always there supporting Giants as well but the Giants is more of a history long history that’s that’s what I think about the Giants great fans but it’s more for a long history of the fans wherever you go you will find Giants fan but DNA fans chto you go to Hiroshima It’s only a little bit, but you go to Hirohima as a Giants player, there’s a lot of fans everywhere you go. Especially in two lines or pack, you’re walking. What? So amazing. Amazing. Yeah. Very good. I I I want to say thank you to Juri Giants fan also of course DNA based fun for all the support.
