Chihiro Sumida has not been blessed with a win this month, but he has pitched well, giving up no runs in 8.2 innings and only 2 runs in 7 innings. This will be his first time playing against Yokohama DeNA in an interleague game, and his first time pitching at Yokohama Stadium. Following on from pitcher Imai’s excellent performance in the first game of the series, pitcher will also be hoping to overpower the Yokohama DeNA batting line and get win in three appearances.
Shinya Hasegawa is in good form, hit in six consecutive games. In the game on the 17th, he hit single to center fielder field in his second at-bat against Yokohama DeNA pitcher Bauer, and doble down the left field line in his fourth at-bat. Nevin, who batted after him, followed with doble, making Hasegawa a valuable source of points. The opposing starting pitcher, Jackson, is a good pitcher with ERA of 1.40, but we can’t wait for him to hit a shot that will create an opportunity.
