he’s hitting 397 in an era where the average hitter is at 244 and even if he’s Luis Arise hitting two home runs a year if he’s hitting 397 it’s eye popping it’s 397 with as big a power as anybody in the world has and you know you could say that this ballpark adds about 5 to 10 home runs a year on an average player it doesn’t matter where he plays he’s going to hit home runs anywhere makes them all look small he’d hit home runs uh he makes Parks look like the old John Smoltz lift ball field put up in Lancing this week let’s go he would do some damage in there yeah I’d say they need to reinforce that net he’s down on strikes here and Garrett Crochet with bookend Ks and a one two three first that’s where he went the first time pounded in and ended up getting him out the way but Aaron Judge is seeing everything in kind of slow motion when you’re having this kind of year offensively you just are patient mechanically sound and every once in a while you’re going to run into a stud on the mound [Music] see those numbers against left-handed pitching i I would throw a right-hander against the uh New York we got the call right there strike two [Music] crochet the judge fouled off fast ball there’s only two hitters in the American League that see fewer fast balls than Judge overall which shines even a little more light on how unique this attack is from Crochet throw down to both noticed it it’s a different feel in the ballpark because whenever a Yankee was introduced they got the heck boot out of them tonight you say “Well that happens all the time.” No it doesn’t no it’s happening now though last couple years more cheers you know you hear the cheers almost 50/50 you didn’t hear it today feels like the old days and in there for strike on Judge crochet struck out three times last Saturday i crazy to think just put him on like he’s trying to put a point in the board right i don’t know go get Bellinger you got to be careful every at bat with this guy that’s just the zone he’s in you got to treat him like Bonds 2-1 the American League leader in batting average hits OPS runs scored RBI’s on base percentage total bases the 3-1 oh he went for the downs on that heater 97 that was strength against strength you got to find your spot even if you think it’s up out of the zone if he takes it ball force so be it find your spot get attacked got him he struck him out again 98 that was an eight pitch first inning for the Red Sox ace gets in front on a cutter on one on Judge so four consecutive punch outs of the man who is the leader to win another MVP and he’s behind O2 [Music] that was that was an odd take 01 it’s almost he’s hitting something else there i was right down the middle two strike pitch and strike three got him again garrett Crochet striking on Aaron Judge for a fifth consecutive time and on three pitches that was good morning good afternoon good night this is just a different animal he said in New York I got him three times but you know he’s a great hitter and we’ll see what happens next time he’s off to a pretty good start say so hitting .389 with 25 home runs the fifth time in his career he’s hit 25 homers before the All-Star break and the strike that’s a pitch that can make you uncomfortable right elevated up and in and it’s called a strike and finishing him off up and away that drops in for a strike 83 mph sweeper looked like they wanted this in he leaves it out over a little back door he froze him in New York that way one time on a strike up fouled back 99 the hardest pitch he has thrown in a game statcast 3Ds powered by Google Cloud that’s the hardest pitch he’s thrown all year now you see that top right corner that is Judge’s cold zone it’s a small one it’s why he’s hitting 390 but he’s hit it a few times 99’s the hardest he’s thrown all year hardest pitch [Music] let’s make the next one 100 one two got him again he struck him out 99 miles an hour for the third time in this game and six times in a row that just doesn’t happen with Aaron Judge 984 was the hardest pitch he had thrown all year 988 and then a clean 99 right here by you and that’s going to bring up Judge in his previous three at bats against Crochet he struck out all three times he’s one for eight in his career against the left-hander with seven strikeouts takes one pitch Michael he’s just got to get a fast ball that’s below his belt booing so loud they can’t even hear the signs and that’s where he’s been all night long up in the zone to him judges average now at 387 he’s dipped under 394 and then got to a hot streak i tell you what for a guy that has not pitched into the ninth inning ever before his stuff is still electric that cutter the hardest cutter he’s thrown all night at 95 sounds like a broken bat [Applause] one and two on the Yankee captain crowded Fenway on its feet crochet rocks and deals two and two and the pitch 100 m an hour on his 105th pitch [Applause] they’re 2-2 three and two this is a battle of the Titans right here judge against Crochet that’s driven deep to left field there it goes see youa a tie game judge after three strikeouts hits one over the monster seats and we’re tied at one [Applause] 443 ft michael and it just took one fast ball down in the zone that he could get to and boy did he get to it and now he has to make a decision what do I do do I take him out now or do I let him try to finish this inning he gets on a long bat here he could be at his careerhigh in pitches interesting joe I wonder if you noticed that last pitch before the home run Judge stepped out and kind of like shook his head like he really saw it well and then this yeah i mean it it’s one that he can handle i mean as good as Aaron Judge is it’s really hard to hit a 99 mph fast ball at your letters i mean I know he got a 99 yesterday or Wednesday off a cruise but that was down a little bit too and this ball man 443 ft over everything i tell you what he is such an impressive hitter Michael he just continues to dominate the league honda lands down street and when it lands Judge has 60 ribbies 26 home runs and we have a 1-1 game here in Boston [Applause]
Garrett Crochet has struck out Aaron Judge in SIX consecutive at-bats over two starts … until Judge took him deep for a game-tying home run in the 9th inning of a June 13, 2025 matchup between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.
