Mariners vs. Rangers Game Highlights (5/3/25) | MLB Highlights
Corey Seager is back up the IL and in the Rangers lineup and boy do they need their World Series MVP. The Rangers and the Mariners getting set for the second game of a three game series. The veteran left hander Patrick Corbin on the mound for the Rangers tonight. 2 to 1 record in his four starts , 19 innings pitched 37 to 9 A with the 15 K. Corbin has been great. JP Crawford leads it off. JP gets after the very first pitch walks this to right field. It’s sailing back one pitch, one run and the Mariners an instant lead, Pete Crawford the first pitch of the game with a leadoff home run in the lower deck in right field. And the Mariners start tonight where they left off last. Here’s Cal Raley and Bone won a night for Cal two runs solo blast the fourth in a grand salami in the fifth inning. He is homered in all four games against the Rangers this year on a line that’s a missile to the gap by Cal Raley. Short hops for the base of the defense blistered by the Mariners catcher. He slides in with a one out double. They kept him in the yard. The fact that he didn’t leave the yard. I think that the Texas Rangers consider a win here is randy Aros Arena, broken bat and this ball flies down to the corner and it is a foul ball. Is that a broken bat or do you lose it? That did break man. That, I mean, we have been told the ball carries a little bit more here with the roof open, but I don’t know how you split your bat right down the middle and nearly hit it out. How often do we see that? He just disappeared into the clubhouse or at least back behind the dugout. And now we’re all waiting for him to reappear. I mean, nobody is having more fun than that ground ball. Simon charges and Rosa to beat it out. Bases are loaded here with one out. Now for the veteran Donovan Solano who gets the call at first base today for Seattle on the ground, third base young to second one on the first two, double play and gets out of a really sticky jam in the first. Rangers will be facing luis Castillo who is coming off a really great start on the home stand as Langford stands in Wyatt batting 2 94 6 homers and 12 runs batted in and that’s hit to the right side by and out in the right field base. Knock for Wyatt Langford. The Rangers have their first baserunner trailing here one to zero. Seager back in the lineup for the Rangers tonight in his 12 games leading up to his il stints. He was hitting nearly 400 Rangers hope he can pick up where he left up, swing and a miss, here’s the throw Langford on the move, strike him out, throw him out. And that’s how the first inning comes to a close, an early lead for the Mariners here tonight. 1 to 0, bottom of the second. Peterson leads things off for the Rangers swinging a two hopper right to the first baseman Donovan Solano waves off Castillo goes to the bag for the out on Peterson and there’s one away swinging a pop up first baseman Donovan Solano in behind the bag nearing the line. Donovan is there to make the catch and there’s two outs for the Rangers here in the bottom of the second, shallow center field. Julio comes in and makes the catch has faced the over a couple of. So there’s one out here in the third. Here’s Cal Raley. He had two homers in the game last night. He has just bashed Texas so far this season. Three, two swing and a miss went to the sinker. Might have been a strike. He got the chase by Raley and there are two outs in the top of the third and the Rangers have retired. Cal Raley and a Rose arena. It’s one high in the air to right center Harris going back just barely on the track. He makes the catch in deep right center field and Patrick Corbin with a 123 inning as we go to the bottom of the third. Harris draws the walk and the Rangers have two men on. This is the Rangers first at bat in this series with a runner in scoring position. Let’s see if they can take advantage. Josh smith hit a home run in the ninth inning last night to end the Rangers seven game homer. Ground ball chopping to Revo spin move Crawford has throw to first base that took its time runs too well, that combination , two outs runners on the corner swung on hot shot to third base Williamson on the back and goes a short way to second in time to get the force out. And that’s it for the Rangers in the third. Castillo dances out of trouble here in the third inning. The Rangers had an opportunity in the third and they didn’t get a guy home 1st and 2nd 1 out. You got a guy on second one out quickly. It’s runner on second two out. So this is where you can put yourself in an opportunity to succeed. But at some point, you have to get the result and that one is hit past second out of the alley to right center field. Sr can score easily from second RB I single by Jonah Heim and we’re tied at one. Rangers have equalized here. It’s 11 and Corbin has looked pretty good so far. First pitched in the fifth inning, lifted into the air to right field where Garcia cuts across to make the and they retired. Revis on one pitch. That ball is hit pretty well out to left Langford races over toward the line. He makes the catch two top of the order. Now, JP Crawford here he hits one sharply to first knocked down by Peterson. He’ll pick it up. Flip to Corbin covering Crawford is retired. It’s a 123 shutdown. Top half of the fifth for Corbin and Company two on and two out Hogan Miller, the side arming lefty on the pitch 14th appearance. Cal Raley at second. He walks Mitch Garver at first. He’s singled both coming off of Patrick Corbin whose night is done after five and two thirds and yet again, put the Rangers in a good position to try to win a ball game. That one is in the air center field. Harris was shallow races back makes the catch inning over Mariners leave a couple great start for Corbin excellent job by Millner Mariners won Rangers one bottom of the sixth innings. The Rangers swing on, popped up just off the infield. JP Crawford back pedals. He’s under it. Looking up at the blue sky makes a two hand catch one away here in the sixth inning. Swung on bounding ball right to first base Solano on the back end, he’ll take it to the bag himself and that is the second out here in the sixth inning. So Castillo trying to get through six just allowing the one run swung on line drive right field racing over Taylor, he reaches up, makes the catch just in front of the track. That’s a 123 inning, luis Castile, a nice night, one run against the Rangers through six innings or arena’s second hit of the game. And now you do start to get a little worried here is building something and now Garcia dealing with some base runners at 1st and 2nd 1 out. The batter Mitch Garver on the ground shortstop could be two to second. They get the one on the double play. Garcia gets the Rangers out of the inning. The big right hander chris Mart-n coming on here for Texas in a 11 game. He’s going to face a pinch hitter here and Jorge Polanco and Polanco has been on an absolute tear reigning American League player of the week. Polanco on a line to right field and it’s out of the glove of Adolis garcia Polaco racing to second. Here’s the throw, he is safe. It just continues for Jorge Polanco with a little hustle mixed in. That’s right out of the box. That’s bang, bang at second. If he bust it right out of the box, he doesn’t get in there. Williamson with a very productive out ground ball to the right side of the infield to get the go ahead run to third. That is winning baseball right there. Get him over. Come on on a line into center field. A pinch hit. Go ahead RB I single in the ninth inning and the Mariners have taken a 2 to 1 lead in Texas tying runs in scoring position and a garcia is up and we know that a has had his share of moments and all it’s going to take here is a hit, one hit and this game is tied up does have a hit against munoz in his career one for nine lifetime. He got him, he puts them away and the ball game is over. The Mariners take the series, they win it 2 to 1 another. Phenomenal save by Andr-s Mu-oz to catapult the Mariners to their eighth consecutive series win.
