Yeah no not bad at all and um being teammates for them was unbelievable obviously and I mean those are you know two of the most respected players in you know in Japan and then obviously yesterday being able to meet giro’s arguably the most respected of all of them
Um yeah I’ve been spent an unbelievable month or two or whatever it’s been it was it was five in the morning it was pretty crazy um but Tommy Edmond he had flown to Korea and said he had to do a press conference in the airport and so I had
Done some media beforehand and then um kind of knew that there was going to be a little bit of a a buzz going on didn’t know it was going to be that big but um you know when I walked through like you said it was five in the morning I
Came off a plane so um it was it was surprising for sure yeah um I think I think um between my mom and my my agent and understanding that you know Japanese you know culture and and how much they love baseball I think I already had enough
Pressure on myself I don’t think uh the camera crew or anything like that was gonna add anymore but um it definitely just made it real to where you know everything that I was thinking going into it was you know in fact Drew and that it meant so much to the Japanese
Fans yeah yeah and um you know um him being the leader of the team you know Captain the team um you know I wanted to make sure that you know I gave a good first impression and so when I saw him I was really nervous
Um but you know like you said he was he just wanted to make me feel at ease and kind of help me out and so um that helped me out a ton you joined the team with you yeah it was unbelievable I’ve never seen anything like it
Um he’s a freak of nature and you know he everybody knows how good he is but to be able to watch it in person um was a treat I hated it because then I would have to hit after them and then I feel terrible about myself because I
Couldn’t do anything that he was doing but uh but yeah it was it was it was a treat to be able to watch that every day yeah I mean no after the first day I stopped because I realized that I couldn’t do the things that he was doing
So I was just like you know what I’ll just do whatever I have to do to get ready for the game because what he’s doing is just on a different level yeah we got to double play the play before and you know I knew that some guys on the field were getting excited
But it was Mike Trout hitting so I couldn’t get too excited um but then three two count ninth inning um you know it was pretty special um yeah I was playing deep um but with that lineup you never know you know after trial was Goldie and
After Goldie was NATO and after NATO I think was schwarber and so um it’s not an easy lineup so you know you got to play where you think you know they’re gonna hit it um because that whole lineup is so loaded they’re really good um they’re really really good um I can’t
Overensize that enough um you know they’re they’re special players and um I’m not looking forward I’m hoping they’ll be my teammates but I’m not looking forward to having to face them if they’re not because they’re really really talented players and um you know I think kind of they put
Themselves on the map in in terms of the US and the world when they came to the to the WBC and pitched the way they did yeah they like if they allow me I would love to I would absolutely love to be here right huh yeah yeah yeah so um
