The 7th World Weight Category Karate Championships 2025

【大会概要】
４年に一度『体重別の世界大会』という位置付けで1997年に第１回大会が行われ、前回はコロナ禍により中止となったため今回が8年ぶりの開催。世界各国・各地域の国際空手道連盟（I.K.O.）から選抜された強豪選手が出場し、男子４階級・女子３階級の各階級に分かれトーナメント形式で激しい優勝争いを繰り広げる。
ほぼ同じ体重の選手同士ならではのスピード感あふれるスリリングな攻防や空手のお手本とも言える華麗な組手の数々は、一般・壮年の世代はもちろん、少年部の道場生にとっても、必ずや今後の稽古や成長の糧となることだろう。

This tournament, known as the ‘World Weight Category Karate Championships,’ is held every four years, with the inaugural event taking place in 1997. The previous tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making this the first event in eight years. Highly skilled athletes selected from the International Karate Organization (I.K.O.) federations around the world will compete in intense matches, divided into four weight classes for men and three for women, all vying for the championship title. The thrilling, high-speed exchanges unique to competitors of similar weight, and the elegant kumite techniques that serve as a model for karate, will undoubtedly provide valuable lessons and motivation for general and senior participants, as well as young dojo members, contributing to their future training and growth.”
