Sorry. No. Yeah. See personto Ich. in the clubhouse. I love the addition of Jorge Blanco. Now, he’s not Pete Alonzo. We know that nobody’s going to be Pete Alonzo, but he’s an athlete and an athlete that performed at a high level in clutch situations in the postseason with Seattle. versatile. He’s going to be the Mets first baseman apparently can hit with some pop. But just the fact that Sterns is going to try to build this team with some ball players, some athletes. It’s not going to make you feel better about losing Pete. That’s not what this is. But that doesn’t mean that they can’t make this team better. It’s a nice start and trying to build this team out post the core of NMO and Pete Alonzo. Quite a few subtractions. Nice to do one of these about an addition. I can confirm Will Sammon’s report that the Mets have agreed to terms with Jorge Palanco pending a physical and first and foremost kudos to Will who has been crushing it again this off season. But this is a nice little signing for the Mets. Maybe maybe more than a nice little signing for the Mets. Um first and foremost, he’s a good hitter. Really good hitter and a versatile hitter. Switch hitter. Hit 26 home runs last year. An OPS over 800. Um and I mentioned the word versatile because he brings a lot of versatility defensively as well. I know he played the majority of his games at DH last year. I would assume he gets a lot of time at DH, but the Mets believe in Palanco defensively as well. This is not just strictly bringing on a DH. Um, he can play all over the diamond, has not played a lot of first base, but they really believe in his athleticism, his work ethic, his hands, and think that that along with the coaching staff that they brought on board can really make him transition nicely to first base. So, um, listen, I don’t think he is going to be the direct onetoone replacement for Pete Alonzo. I’ve been saying this for a little while now, but, um, I don’t think it’s going to be as linear as that with the Mets. I think they’re going to replace a lot of these players in the aggregate. So, yes, Palano will get some time at first base, but he’ll get some time elsewhere. He’ll get some time at DH. Um but again, this is a nice versatile player, good bat that they’ve brought in as they start to rebuild now this roster um and reshape. Still a lot of a lot of work to be done, but a good first step for the Mets and Jorge Palanco.
