This girl just threw the fastest softball pitch in the history of softball. This guy threw the hardest pitch by any starting pitcher ever. And this guy just turned in the hardest base hit ever. Yeah, that all happened in one weekend. We’ve talked about Carllin Pickkins before, the 6’1 pitcher out of Tennessee. She put Tennessee on her back with two wins and 21 strikeouts in back-to-back games to win the national championship. And in one of those at bats, she faced off against softball’s Otani Jordy Balls. She’s an insane pitcher and hitter. She hit 79.4 mph, the fastest softball pitch ever recorded. If you take that reaction time and compare it to baseball, that would be like 110 mph coming at you in a big league box. And who knows, maybe we might see 110 from a pitcher one day because Trick Scooball threw 102.6 on the 94th pitch of his game. Again, let me repeat that. He threw 102.6 mph on the 94th pitch of his game to complete a Maddox. That’s a complete game shut out in under 100 pitches. And that 102.6 is the fastest pitch ever recorded by a starting pitcher. And he did it in the ninth inning. Then there’s the freak O’Neal Cruz who just hit a baseball 122.9 mph, the fastest recorded hit in Statcast history.
