Nippon-Ham announced on March 13 that Yi-Lei Sun pitcher and contract extra inning have reached an agreement.

Yi-Lei Sun commented through the team, “I would like to thank all the team members for giving me the opportunity to continue playing for Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters in the 2026 season. I am also looking forward to meeting all The Fighters fans again. In the 2025 season, I pitched in many games and gained valuable experience as a player. I will continue to practice hard this offseason, further improving myself, and hope to contribute to the team’s progress towards becoming the best in Japan next season.”

Yi-Lei Sun joined the team last season and was registered as a controlled player midway through this season. He pitched in nine games and 12 1/3 innings in the first team, finishing with a record of 0 wins, 2 losses, 4 hold, 1 ERA, and an ERA of 5.11.
