史上初の「アジアプロ野球交流戦」が台湾・桃園で開催され、2025 台湾シリーズ優勝の楽天モンキーズが、日本の楽天ゴールデンイーグルス、韓国のKTウィズと対戦した。
桃園市政府の主催で台湾（CPBL）、日本（NPB）、韓国（KBO）の3チームが桃園楽天野球場に集まり、11月7日から9日まで試合を実施し多様なプレースタイルと野球文化を台湾のファンに披露した。結果は楽天モンキーズが2勝を挙げ、日本の楽天ゴールデンイーグルスと韓国のKTウィズはそれぞれ引き分けと敗戦を記録した。
三木肇が率いる楽天ゴールデンイーグルスは2025年シーズンに67勝74敗（勝率.475）を記録。一方、KTウィズを率いたカンチョル・リー監督は71勝68敗（勝率.511）でシーズンを終えた。リー監督は2021年にウィズを韓国シリーズ優勝に導いた実績がある。
台湾シリーズ2025の優勝の楽天モンキーズは古久保健二監督のもとで62勝51敗（勝率.521）を記録しポストシーズン3位で進出。モンキーズはプレーオフで前半シーズン優勝の統一セブン-イレブンライオンズを破り、さらに台湾シリーズでは2024年台湾シリーズ優勝のCTBCブラザーズに勝利。楽天による球団買収以降、初めての台湾シリーズ制覇を果たした。
第1試合: 東北楽天ゴールデンイーグルズ 1-1 KTウィズ
シリーズ第1戦はNPBとKBOのチームによる対戦。楽天ゴールデンイーグルスとKTウィズの試合は、2011年のアジアシリーズ以来の台湾でのNPBとKBOのトップチームが直接対決となった。当時は福岡ソフトバンクホークスが予選ラウンドでサムスン・ライオンズに9-0で勝利したもののライオンズが決勝でホークスに5-3で勝利しアジアシリーズ初優勝を果たしている。
ゴールデンイーグルスは古賀康誠（マイナーリーグ成績5勝5敗、防御率4.31）、KTウィズはハン・チャヒョン（6勝5敗、防御率4.15）が先発した。両投手はどちらも3イニングを無失点で抑えたが、4回にゴールデンイーグルスの吉野創士がこの試合初得点を挙げた。
5回裏、ウィズはランナーを出すことに成功し、カン・ミン・リーが打席に立つと、ゴールデンイーグルスの守備ミスによりウィズが同点に追いついた。
ゴールデンイーグルスは6回に無死満塁の好機を作ったが、ウィズのリリーフ投手チョン・ヨンジュが踏ん張り得点を許さなかった。試合は両チーム9イニングを戦い、1-1の引き分けで終了した。
ウィズのカンチョル・リー監督は両チームの投手陣を称賛し、ゴールデンイーグルスの三木肇監督も台湾人選手のポー・シアン・ヤンの好プレーを評価した。
この試合のMVPにはウィズ相手に5イニングを無失点に抑えた古賀康誠が選ばれた。
第2試合: 東北楽天ゴールデンイーグルス 1-3 楽天モンキーズ
第2戦は、2025年台湾シリーズ優勝の楽天モンキーズと日本の東北楽天ゴールデンイーグルスによる対戦となった。ゴールデンイーグルスは大内誠弥（マイナーリーグ成績3勝4敗、防御率4.26）を先発に立て、楽天モンキーズはリン・ズーウェイ（1勝3敗、防御率3.38）がマウンドに上がった。
ゴールデンイーグルスは初回から攻撃の手を緩めず、先頭の小深田大翔が二塁打で出塁し、続く得点で先制し1-0 とリードした。
しかし5回裏、モンキーズはチャオホン・チャンの二塁打で同点に追いつき、さらに7回裏には同じくチャンの二塁打で2点を加え、3-1 と逆転して勝利を収めた。
モンキーズの古久保監督は投手陣の活躍を高く評価し、「今夜は投手陣が一度も四球を出しませんでした。」と語った。またゴールデンイーグルスの三木監督も台湾人投手のチアハオ・スンを称賛し、「彼のマウンドでの安定感がチームに安心感をもたらした」と述べた。モンキーズのチアハオ・スンは、二塁打と全ての得点を挙げた活躍により、この試合のMVPに選ばれた。
第3試合: KTウィズ 3-6 楽天モンキーズ
交流シリーズの最終戦は、KBOのKTウィズとCPBLの楽天モンキーズの対戦となった。モンキーズはチアフイ・ツェンがマウンドに立ち、ウィズはキム・ドンヒョンが先発した。
試合は2回にウィズが先制点を挙げ、4回にも1点加えて2-0とリード。モンキーズは4回に1点を返して1点差とし、続く5回にはチャオホン・チャンが2ラン本塁打を放ち、3-2と逆転した。
6回表、ウィズは守備のミスで同点に追いついたが、モンキーズのツーチエ・リュウが6回裏に2ラン本塁打を放ち、再びリードを奪った。モンキーズはそのリードを守り切り、8回にさらに1点を加えて最終スコア6-3でウィズに勝利した。
ツーチエ・リュウがこの試合のMVPに選ばれた。
レディ・ウィズ、東北ゴールデンエンジェルス、楽天ガールズ
交流シリーズに参加した各クラブは、NPB、KBO、CPBLそれぞれの異なるプレースタイルをフィールド上で披露しただけでなく、自チームの応援団も台湾に連れてきてファンを楽しませた。
KTウィズの有名な「ストライクアウトダンス」を振付けたキム・ヘリを含む「レディ・ウィズ」の6名が台湾に来場し、東北楽天ゴールデンイーグルスの応援チア「東北ゴールデンエンジェルス」の4名もファンに紹介された。主催チームである楽天モンキーズは、「楽天ガールズ」の11名を送り込み、3試合にわたり観客を盛り上げた。
週末3試合のシリーズには延べ2万2,000人以上のファンが楽天桃園野球場に来場した。

The first-ever Asia Professional Baseball Exchange Series, featuring three teams from CPBL, NPB, and KBO, was held in Taoyuan, Taiwan, as the CPBL 2025 Taiwan Series winner, Rakuten Monkeys, took on their Japanese counterpart, Rakuten Golden Eagles, and KBO’s KT Wiz from Korea.
Hosted by the Taoyuan City Government, the three teams from the CPBL, NPB, and KBO gathered at Taoyuan Rakuten Baseball Stadium to play from 7-9 November, showcasing diverse playing styles and baseball cultures to fans in Taiwan as the Rakuten Monkeys claimed two wins, with Japan’s Rakuten Golden Eagles and KT Wiz from Korea recording a draw and a loss.
Hajime Miki managed the Golden Eagles, leading the team to a 67-74 (.475) record in 2025, while KT Wiz manager Kang-Chul Lee finished the season with a 71-68 (.511) record. Lee previously led Wiz to the Korea Series title in 2021.
The Taiwan Series 2025 winner Rakuten Monkeys were led by Kenji Furukubo, whose 62-51 (.521) qualified for the third spot of the postseason before the Monkeys defeated the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions (first half-season winner) and CTBC Brothers (Taiwan Series winner 2024), in playoff series and Taiwan Series, respectively, and won the Taiwan Series for the first time since Rakuten took over the ownership of the club.
Game 1: Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles 1-1 KT Wiz
The first game of the series featured teams from NPB and KBO, and the game between the Golden Eagles and Wiz also marked the first time major-level teams from NPB and KBO had played head-to-head in Taiwan since the Asia Series 2011, when the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks defeated the Samsung Lions, 9-0, in the Preliminary Round, before the Lions defeated the Hawks, 5-3, in the final to win the first Asia Series title.
The Golden Eagles sent Kosei Koga (5-5, 4.31 in minor league) to the mound to face Cha Hyeon Han (6-5, 4.15) from KT Wiz. Both starters dominated and held their opponents scoreless through the first three innings before Golden Eagles’ Soshi Yoshino drove in the first run of the game in the fourth.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Wiz managed to have runners on base before Gang Min Lee took the plate, and the Golden Eagles’ defensive error allowed the Wiz to score the tying run.
The Golden Eagles once loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth, but Wiz reliever Yong Ju Jeon managed to hold on and allowed no runs to be scored. The Golden Eagles and Wiz played nine innings, and the game ended with a 1-1 tie.
Wiz manager Kang-Chul Lee praised both pitching staff for pitching a solid game, and Golden Eagles manager Hajime Miki also gave recognition to his Taiwanese player Po Hsiang Yang for his performance on the field.
Koga was named MVP of the game for his five shutout innings against Wiz.
Game 2: Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles 1-3 Rakuten Monkeys
The second game featured the 2025 Taiwan Series champion, the Rakuten Monkeys, and the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles from Japan. The Golden Eagles started Seiya Ohuchi (3-4, 4.26 in minor league) to face the Rakuten Monkeys’ Tzu-Wei Lin (1-3, 3.38).
The Golden Eagles started their offence right from the first inning as Hiroto Kobukata led off with a double and subsequently scored a run to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Monkeys scored the tying run on Chao-Hung Chang’s double to even the score before another two runs were scored on Chang’s double in the seventh to give the Monkeys a 3-1 lead en route to victory.
Monkey’s manager Furukubo gave high regard to the performance of the pitching staff: “Our pitchers did not issue any walks tonight.” Golden Eagles manager Miki also praised his Taiwanese pitcher Chia-Hao Sung: “His dominance on the mound provided our team with a sense of stability.”
Chao-Hung Chang was named MVP of the game for both his doubles and driving in all the runs for the Monkeys.
Game 3: KT Wiz 3-6 Rakuten Monkeys
The rubber game of the Exchange Series saw KBO’s KT Wiz taking on CPBL’s Rakuten Monkeys as Chia-Hui Tseng took the mound for the Monkeys and Dong Hyun Kim was sent to start the game.
The Wiz scored the first run of the game in the second inning and added another run in the fourth for a 2-0 lead. The Monkeys scored one run in the fourth to make it a one-run game before Chao-Hung Chang belted a two-run home run in the fifth to take the lead, 3-2.
In the top of the sixth, Wiz tied the game on a throwing error, but the Monkeys’ Tzu-Chieh Liu’s two-run home run helped his team to retake the lead in the bottom of the same inning. The Monkeys held on to the lead before adding another run in the eighth to defeat Wiz, 6-3.
Tzu-Chieh Liu was named MVP of the game.
Lady Wiz, Tohoku Golden Angels, and Rakuten Girls
In addition to presenting the fans with different playing styles from NPB, KBO, and CPBL on the field, the clubs participating in the Exchange Series also brought their own cheering squad to Taiwan to perform for the fans.
Six members from “Lady Wiz”, including Hae-Ri Kim, who choreographed the famous KT Wiz Strikeout Dance, came to Taiwan, while the four members of the “Tohoku Golden Angels” were introduced to the fans. As hosts, the “Rakuten Girls” sent their 11 members to entertain the crowds during the three-game series.
Over 22,000 fans came to Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium over the three-game weekend series.
