Cap. I’m David Kaplan. Happy Labor Day. Nothing like a cup of coffee. The whole
family’s asleep. The dogs are asleep. It’s early. Uh day off today. The weather up here is
absolutely gorgeous. I got a few thoughts. One, if you missed the news after the game yesterday,
the Cubs lost to the Rockies 6 to5. They walked it off. That was a walk-off triple. There
have been two walk-off triples this year in Major League Baseball. Both surrendered by Daniel
Palencia. Both. Daniel Palencia is a closer. It is a different mentality. Three times you’ve brought
him in in non-safe situations and all three times now he has lost. Are you going to learn, Craig?
Here’s another thing for you, Mr. Counsel. in the ninth inning of a tie game that you already
know at that point that the Brewers have lost and the Padres’s have lost. You’re trying to run one
down Milwaukee and hold the other one at bay for the top wild card spot. San Diego, you had Nico
her and and he got a day off great. He deserves one in the ninth inning. He can’t come up to bat.
Willie Castro is now nine for 59 since the Cubs traded for him. Nine for 59. and you let Reese
Maguire hit and you don’t use Nico her at all in the ninth inning and sending Casey down to bring
Alcantara up. Another kid you won’t give a chance. You won’t put him in a position to succeed. It’s
really disappointing. I’ll never manage a major league team, but I’ll never understand some of
the decisions that some of these dudes make, especially our $8 million manager, Craig
Council. I don’t understand some of the decisions that they make. Nope. I got to play my
guys. Then why’d you bring him up? Why’d you spend a month of his development where he barely got
any at bats? Very disappointing. And yesterday, Tanner Gordon. Tanner Gordon’s a horrible pitcher.
Terrible. He’s got an RA well north of six. He’s thrown the ball a little bit better as of late
in terms of quality starts, but guess what? He struck out nine yesterday. Careerhigh, most by
any Rocky this year. Nine. That guy looked like TKO on the on the bump against the Cubs. And we
couldn’t find a way to get Casey in there to play. Nope. None of it. Can’t find a way, man, at any
time. I’m not just talking about yesterday. I’m talking about since he was brought up. Very, very
disappointing. Cubs and Braves today. Uh, I’ll have a recap of that one. One other housekeeping
note, starting tomorrow, brand new lineup at ESPN 1000. Same personalities, new times.
Jonathan Hood and I, 6 to9 tomorrow morning, leading into Carmen and Euro. ESPN 1000. Enjoy

Kap says it best: why call up promising players like #Casey and #Alcantara if you’re not going to give them a real chance? And how does #TannerGordon, a pitcher with an ERA north of 6, strike out 9 Cubs in one game?! It’s a gutty performance from the #Rockies, but Cubs fans deserve better.
