Amed Rosario 2025 Success

Last offseason, Amed Rosario came back to drive line with one goal in mind. Become the best hitter he could possibly be. And Rosario gets on Rosario the opposite with a swing. We focused on improving three things. His bat speed, his space and posture, and his aggressiveness in the zone. Each day, we used blast motion and hit tracks to measure his bat speed, attack angle, launch angle, and point of contact. During the early days of the offseason, we identified one key issue in his biomechanics data. His pelvis and his torso were not working together. specifically in his stride phase with excessive sidebend and poor sequencing. This led to too many compensating moves happening in his swing, specifically when he was trying to deliver his barrel to the ball. Once we cleaned that up though, everything else clicked and the results started to show in 2025. In 2025, his average bat speed had jumped 2 mph from 71.2 to 73.2 mph. And along with that, his exit velocity rose also from 86.9 to 91.2. His hard hit rate had reached the career best at 45%. His ideal attack angle rose to almost 50%. And his pullside air jumped with it, jumping from 10% to nearly 18%. More balls in the air meant more impact means more damage. His expected slash line was 300, 460, 342. And he delivered on it, posting 276, 436, 321. He swung the same amount, but he chased less, missed less, and walked even more. While Amed was with both the Nationals and the Yankees, we provided him with pre-series scouting reports to create the most tailored approach for AMD to excel in 2025. This included information on how he was going to get attacked, game day plans versus the starters, individual pregame prep, along with some postgame AB reviews to keep us ticking in the right direction. Amed was able to have one of the best years statistically that he’s had in his entire career. And that’s what we build at Driveline.

From early success with the Nationals to the Yankees’ playoff run, Amed Rosario had a wild 2025. Hitting Coordinator Travis Fitta breaks down the work that made it happen 💪
