Carlos PENA being a PAIN to the RED SOX 💯💯💯🥰
Start of a three-game series, big weekend here in Detroit. The senior PGA Tour, now known as the Champions Tour, is in town. Matter of fact, they’re playing at a golf course almost right across the street from the Red Sox team hotel. And a lot of the golfers, including Jack Nicholas, are staying at the same hotel as the Red Sox. And over the weekend, there will be two Eminem concerts right next door at Ford Field, the brand new home of the Detroit Lions. Carlos Pñena takes ball one outside. That’s two things that Wall-Ally wants to get accomplished this weekend. One, maybe play nine holes with Jack Nicholas, and he’ll call Jack later on tonight. We get back to the hotel. And he also very badly wants to see Eminem. Yeah. And uh 70,000 people are expecting to see Eminem this weekend. And I understand too that if Eminem would like Walter to come over and spend a little time at his new crib that he’s bought here in uh in Detroit. Yeah. Big mansion. Oh, huge. It’s amazing the circle of friends of Wildcats. You know, at one opposite ends of the spectrum, you think of Jack Nicholas and Eminem. You wouldn’t think they run in the same social circles, but Wallally’s a bond. There’s a blast on the right field line. Gone. Line drive home run just over the wall at the 3:30 marker. And what started out looking like it would be a laugher for the Red Sox has turned into a one-run game. Carlos Pñena’s eighth homer of the year makes it four to three. Sinking wide drive by Carlos Pñena will get it out over that 330 right down the right field line. Little cut fast ball from John Burkett that uh you want that off the plate. That stayed on the inside part of the plate. That becomes a very good pitch for the uh left-handed to hit. Henley looks stronger, doesn’t he?
Carlos Felipe Peña (born May 17, 1978) is a Dominican former professional baseball first baseman and current broadcaster. He played in for the Detroit Tigers 2002-2005.
Peña played in his first full season in 2003 as the Tigers’ everyday first baseman. On May 19, against the Cleveland Indians, he established career highs with 3 home runs and 7 RBIs. (Peña missed nearly a month in June when he suffered a left calf strain.) He played in 131 games for the Tigers in 2003 and batted .248 with 18 home runs and 59 RBIs.
Side note: the placement of the score box on the screen by these Red Sox…SMH… it covered the players heads over and over throughout the game.
