オリックス・若月健矢捕手と曽谷龍平投手が8日、東京ドームで行われる侍ジャパン強化試合「ラグザス 侍ジャパンシリーズ 2025 日本VS韓国」(11月15、16日)のメンバーに選出された。若月は17年のアジアプロ野球チャンピオンシップ以来、自身2度目の代表入り。高い守備力に加え、今季は121試合で打率2割7分2厘と課題だった打撃面も向上させた。
He is a former partner of Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who is injury-resistant and may be competing in the WBC next March. During his time Orix, he won the Best Battery Award for three consecutive years from 2021, and supported two no hitter. Soya, who recorded a career-high eight wins in his third year as a professional, was selected following a training match in March this year. Manager Ibata of Samurai Japan is also keeping an eye on his suitability as a relief pitcher, and he emphasized, “I want to spend each day reaping the rewards somehow. I want to do the best I can. I want to be ready to go at any time.”
