Motonobu Tanishige, who served as a commentator for the Nippon Broadcasting Show Up Nighter Hiroshima vs. The Giants broadcast on the 27th, spoke about Nippon-Ham, who are aiming to win the league championship for the first time since 2016.
Tanishiro praised Nippon-Ham performance, saying, “They lost three games in a row to Softbank on the road, and it seemed like it would be tough if they lost one or two games in the Ace Contest, but they’ve managed to win three in a row. They’ve gotten stronger.” He added, “Another factor is the high ability of the starting pitchers to complete game games. I think they were doing this as well, planned.”
Tanishiro added, “I think they gained some experience last year. They experienced the climax, and I think each player felt the frustration of losing there. Considering how they’ve grown since then, I think everyone expected this year to be like this.”
