wilmer florestra um how did that i mean how did that get leaked out how i mean how did that happen that i mean i you know you and i we talked every day and so and i knew that if something happened during the game you would have called and said “hey you got to get this guy out of the lineup but the fans were the fans were down there cheering david wright came in the dugout said “oh you got we just traded wilmer flores.” i mean how did that how how did that become such a fiasco no i have i have no idea how how how those things get out but but the but the fact is they do and um you know at the point where we’re in that in those discussions i’m sure there was certainly people aware of the situation on the mets side people aware of the situation um on the milwaukee side and the um major league baseball had to be aware of what was going on because all of this was pending a physical and the players association uh had to be involved so normally is involved so you know it could have come from anywhere i just make the assumption always that things are going to leak out my mistake was um you know not wanting to say anything until the deal was absolutely done and um years before i got criticized for trading joseé conco out of the on deck circle so you know i’ve had other issues with with timing but in this particular case the fact that nothing was announced certainly was was prudent because the deal was never finalized and i’ll tell you in the eight years or so we were together seven eight whatever it was um i think that was the only deal that our doctors killed um it was the only one that that our doctors said “no we can’t do this.” um yeah now we’ve had other trades that have been nixed by doctors for other teams but uh i think that was the only one that our doctors nixed so when they said something um you know we didn’t take it lightly because they did that so seldom did they raise an issue [Music]
