Nippon-Ham 9 – 4 Lotte

In the game against Lotte on the 14th, Nippon-Ham scored an additional run in the fifth inning with two runner on base.

With the score at 5-1 in the fifth inning, leadoff batter Reyes hit a line drive to second base and Kazunari Ishii hit a fly ball to right field, resulting in two outs, but Naoki Arizono drew Walk and No. 7 Kotaro Kiyomiya hit a timely doble to center fielder.

Ken Hirano, who served as a commentator for Nippon-Ham vs. Lotte game (produced by STV Radio) which was also broadcast on Nippon Broadcasting System on the 14th, commented, “He has the power to hit the ball far. It would be terrible to see him batting seventh.”

Next up, No. 8 Yua Tamiya hit a straight ball from Riku Kikuchi on the sixth pitch with two balls and two strike to right fastball for his fifth home run of the game, a two-run shot. Hirano commented, “That ball wasn’t that bad, it was on the inside. But he turned his body to hit it. Those two are the No. 7 and No. 8 batters, so we’re sure they’ll score.”
