Mechanicsburg Edges Danville For D4 District Title

The Danville Lady Devils historic season came to an end in the D4 Central District Championship falling 2-0 to Mechanicsburg.

Sophomore pitcher Addy Bocock put up another masterful performance in the circle striking out 12 Lady Indians (18-4) but #3 Mechanicsburg was able to plate two against her.

The first came in the top of the fourth when Emily Conley led off the inning with a single. She stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error. Kendall Booth then knocked her in two batters later to make it 1-0.

The top-seeded Lady Devils (23-5) tried to answer in the bottom of the inning putting a runner on second with no out and second and third with two out but Jasalyn Sartin would not allow a run only allowing two hard hit balls the whole game.

Mechanicsburg then added the final run of the game in the top of the 5th when Addie DeLong hit a solo home run to center making it 2-0.

Danville tried to answer again in the bottom of the inning with back-to-back two out hits, but Sartin got a strike out to end the inning. She would allow only one more hit the rest of the way – a leadoff single in the seventh – to secure the shutout.

Danville finishes the season as District Runners-Up for the second consecutive season as well as outright KMAC Champions.
