鮎釣り 新しい竿の使用前メンテナンス!初心者必見の固着を防ぐ継ぎ方と鮎竿関連おすすめアイテムも紹介

Hello, I’m Taro. This time I’m sending this from the
garage. I just bought a fishing rod that’s just right for me. I
bought it about a month ago, but I haven’t used it yet. Or
rather, I’m not sure if I’ll use it this year. I’m going to introduce
the process I take before taking it out to the field, and
I’m going to explain how to do that. I’m also going to introduce
some recommended items and things to do when using it in the
field to prevent it from breaking. It’s something that beginners should
definitely read. I guess I’ll have to wait until I use
this rod to get my impressions. First, I’d like to give you a brief
overview of the exterior. That’s a rough estimate. It looks like this The one I bought is the Ginkage Air MT
H87. (Looking at the specs alone) It seems
like a very light rod. It’s a very snappy rod. It’s not a rod that you would use that
hard. I thought I could do some fishing where I
could easily hook a 22-23cm sweetfish and catch it with a
dip net. I chose this one I have other fishing rods, but they are
specialized for a certain purpose, so I have two of
them. So, I bought this because I thought it
would be the core model for my fishing style, and it was
just the right rod for me. Well, I won’t know until I
try it. It comes with a rod bag The quality is almost the same as the
higher grades. There is no difference, it’s the same. The design is cheap looking, but Very good quality and comes with a rod
bag It’s the main body, and the grip. I think
this is the most distinctive feature. It’s Daiwa’s new
grip, and it’s designed to prevent slipping even more. It has a
hexagonal geometric pattern. I feel like that. The grip has come a long way. The grip extends all the way up to here.
It’s non-slip, so it’s easy to hold and charge. In fact,
I often hold it around here and charge it. That’s it. Even if you hold it with your elbow, this
part acts as a grip, so it’s easy to use. Daiwa top plug So, that’s the cushioning material, or
rather the sealing material. There is a sealant in it. There’s nothing particularly spectacular
about it, but it has a tubular top and there are spare
tips, but they’re not included. Was it a solid metal top? There is a setting for a soft replacement
tip, but it is not included. If you want to use this one rod
from the beginning to the end of the season, I think you can
just change the tip. To a soft one. Then…stretch it out. No problem
(laughs). You don’t need to stretch it out. Anyway, I’ll give it a
try and give you my impressions. It looks something like
this. The design is cool. It’s cool. It says mega torque It looks like this. The paint is cool too. There’s a thin layer of AIR on it. That’s it. Next, we’ll do some prep work before
taking it out to the field. Basically, we’ll
coat it and then apply some rod ferrule wax to the joints. That’s all we’ll do. First of all, I took the rod apart. So, it’s best to do this work in a
spacious place, preferably inside a house with a
tatami room. About 6 or 8 tatami mats I mean, I bump into the wall a lot. When you pull it out, spread it out It reaches more than 2m What is a sweetfish rod? It breaks in many different ways. If you hit it, it will crack. It spreads and breaks If you twist it, it will break. The fishing gear is a sweetfish rod, like
something out of Spelunky. On the garage ceiling I had a kayak hanging from it, and it
ended up hitting something on it. So you have to be really careful when
you’re working. Hmm… It is made of 8 pieces. It’s not a 7-piece joint.
Air MT is Next is the coating. This is what I’m
using. It’s a pretty old product. It’s a glass
coating called Tackle Elixir from a company
called INX.label. I bought it a long time ago. When I bought my first fishing rod I bought them together, so they’re really
old. 10 years… I’m like, “Oh, 10 years ago again?”
They’re from 10 years ago. I wonder if they’re functioning as a
coating, but the coating itself is kind of
occult-like. Do you have to do it again for each
fishing trip? If you’re that meticulous, I think it’ll
be pretty effective, but if you’re like me and only do it once
a season, it’ll probably all come off after a few fishing trips.
For now, it’s better than nothing, so I’ll try to do it. Now,
let’s start applying it. At first, it comes with a sponge
specifically for applying it. Don’t use it. I paint with a soft 100% cotton cloth. Put a little bit of this on I’m also a mechanic, so I’m wondering
about coating agents. When polishing the car It is definitely not good to apply too
much coating agent. Apply a thin layer Only by wiping it off I think you can think of it as a film
being applied as a coating. Paint it… Wipe off in a dry place where no spray
has been applied. This forms a thin film I think it’s the mechanism of the coating
agent. I think it’s not so good to just apply it
thickly and leave it. Apply and then wipe off Is it better not to paint this part of
the grip? Something strange is happening
chemically. It’s not very good, so I think it’s
better not to paint it on areas where the grip is treated to prevent
slipping. Hmm… it’s already painted. The paint surface is very smooth so I’m not sure if the coating is working,
but I applied it anyway. This process is repeated for all the
sections. This is probably a type of coating agent. In the case of a car For painted or smooth surfaces A coating film is formed. Unpainted resins are difficult to form a
coating film on. The painting of the sweetfish rods It’s not painted smooth, so For rods of this class, I wonder if the coating film is properly formed. I have doubts. I guess it’s become a little smoother. It’s smoother than the areas without it, so I guess it’s forming. But the membrane is probably fragile. I think I don’t think it forms a very strong
film. The rough paintwork unique to sweetfish
fishing rods Do Gamakatsu and other fishing rods have
a smooth paint finish? When it comes to Daiwa’s Air Class rods The surface is quite rough, so I’m a
little worried about whether the coating will form, but I
guess it’s better than nothing. So I finished painting. I’m sure there
are people who paint the inside, but I don’t. The reason is
that it’s troublesome (laughs). It’s one thing because it’s
troublesome, but I have the strong image that coating agents
are applied to smooth surfaces and a film is formed, so
I thought that if I painted the inside of the carbon as it
is, it wouldn’t be very effective. Combined with the
troublesomeness, I haven’t painted it. So next we’re going to apply ferrule wax. So, ferrule wax. This is a very popular
product. SMITH Rod Ferrule Wax. It’s exactly what the
name suggests. It’s almost like candle wax, so some say
it can be used as a substitute, but I use a special wax
for that purpose. It pops out like a glue stick This is the male side of the joint. This is, whether to paint it or not. There are quite a few pros and cons. When it comes to rods for sweetfish
fishing, the joints are made with incredibly high precision, so some people
say that applying ferrule wax will cause that precision to be lost.
That’s just one opinion. However, even if that precision is lost To prevent damage when joining or
removing the parts. I thought it might be a good idea to
apply some ferrule wax. I’m definitely a painter I apply ferrule wax to the joints of all
my fishing rods, not just my ayu rods. However, when applying it to ayu fishing
rods, I try to apply it thinly. Apply it so thinly that you might end up
wiping it all off. Finally, rub it as hard as you can I try to spread it by keeping it warm. I touched it a little and it felt moist. If you take it over… Aaahh… Should I apply it a little thicker? The feeling of it being squishy is
important. The main purpose of applying ferrule wax
is to prevent adhesion. It doesn’t feel like it tightens easily,
it’s sticky. I think it’s better to apply it until it feels like it’s sticking together. I said to paint it thinly. If it’s too thin, that’s it. I can’t get that “Guni” feeling. Well, this is not suitable. If you think
it is not enough, apply more. The cloth is also
used for polishing. If you keep polishing this
place in the same place, the cloth will The wax soaks in It’s getting matured. When painting other sections It becomes easier to apply The amount of paint to apply There is something indescribable about
the process of connecting and disconnecting. The wax has also transferred to the
inside. When the smooth feeling of the joint
starts to disappear, I add more paint and gradually make it
grow. It feels like I’m overdoing it, but I just want to
avoid it hardening. You’re being very careful about applying
wax to the joints. I can’t say anything. I can’t say
anything. Well, I’ll give it a try. The whoosh sensation isn’t very pleasant. Actually, don’t spread it too thinly. With it smeared on By repeatedly attaching and detaching the
line, it gradually becomes just the right amount, but it’s a
sweetfish rod. The wax that has penetrated inside Wipe it off To be honest, I’m not too sure, but I
don’t put too much paint on it because I need to consider
the accuracy of the joints. I think it will get better as
I keep joining and removing it, so I guess you could say
it’s like letting it mature with use. Now, I’ll
paint the other joints. Now that the painting is done, we will
assemble the pole. Next, I would like to introduce just one thing
to beginners about how to avoid breaking your fishing
rod. There are so many reasons why a fishing
rod breaks, like hitting it or twisting it. Among them, fishermen As a preventative measure, Crush it by connecting and removing it There are cases where the screw breaks
off. In other words, it is stuck. Prevent sticking It’s a matter of manners, but it’s time
to take over. Here, the joint I think a lot of people probably already
know this, but this part where it gets tighter… This is the moment to inherit the verse. Rather than pushing it forward, it’s more like twisting it. Twist and join To remove it, twist it in the opposite
direction. If you take it off like that, Combined with the stickiness of ferrule
wax, I think it will help prevent sticking. Twist it to join and remove it. Twist it in the opposite direction to
remove it That’s the image I have. I think if you think of it as twisting to
connect and twisting to remove, you’ll have fewer
problems when connecting. So, this is what you hold. If you leave the distance too far, the
twisting force will be exerted on this area and it will
break easily. As close to the base as possible Put your hands as close together as
possible Grab it near the base The initial movement is achieved by twisting, and to put it simply, the rod is in a fixed state. The first step to remove the stuck The very first move It’s like getting it by twisting it. If you join it straight, once it hardens
there’s nothing you can do, but if you join it with a twisting image,
it’s easier to get the first few millimeters of movement, which I think
helps prevent it from hardening. Combined with the stickiness
of the fail wax, That’s how it feels
What I’m going to
introduce this time is And finally, I’d like to introduce some
recommended items. The items I used this time and the other one
are: I found a replacement for this, so if you want to get rid of
this, I’ve included a link in the summary section (description
section). I would be happy to purchase from there Next up is the rod stand. I think there are as many rod stands as
there are stars in the sky, but I definitely recommend this one. First of
all, there are no weird logos or anything. I really like the
simple design. The material is called MDF. It’s made of laminated wood. It’s solid,
but somehow… It’s a material that feels elastic. Aluminum and other materials are not
used. For storing delicate sweetfish rods I think this is definitely something I
would recommend. For storing and maintaining ayu fishing
rods There are traces of water dripping It’s a little dirty. Highly recommended I feel like I’ve been introducing the
same thing over and over again, but it’s a sheet to remove stuck parts.
You should always carry this with you. I received this as a gift, so I
don’t know the name of the product or anything else, but I found something that
can be used as a substitute in almost the same way, so I’ll post it in
the description. I’ve said this many times, so I’m sorry if you’re tired
of hearing it. Now, here are some things to be careful of when using this.
It’s literally used to remove stuck parts, but it’s this part that has
become stuck (although I haven’t done it). Hold this side and this side of it. So, I twist it. Right at the edge of the joint If you put the sheet over it, when you
twist it back, In the gap in this section This sheet can get caught in something,
which can cause some serious trouble. Leave a little distance and wrap it
around The actual grip is right at the joint. I feel like that’s the correct way to use
it. The sheet is placed at a slight distance
from the joint. So, with your little finger, you’re kind
of gripping the very edge of the joint. Then, apply a little force to bring it
back towards you. It’s like twisting it hard, moving it a
few millimeters, and releasing the sticking. And then there’s this ferrule wax. I’ll
put a link to that in the video description. And then there’s
the coating agent. This is a pretty old item I wonder if it’s no longer available? I
don’t know if it’s out of production, but I’ve picked
out some alternative coatings and put links in the
description, so if there are people who want to try
coating their rods, I’d be happy if you could purchase
them from there, but I think it’s best to actually
ask at a fishing tackle shop if they have any recommended
coatings. I’ve only been using this for a long
time, so it’s the only thing I know, so I think it’s best
to ask at a fishing tackle shop. And rags. It’s better to use a soft one for this
too. I think it’s best not to use tissue or
other hard fiber materials on sweetfish rods. For polishing, this is
a soft cloth made of 100% cotton, and there are products that
come in large bags, so it can be used for many things, not
just for polishing rods. Wipe off dirt In my case, I use it when I change the
oil in my car, and I also use it to polish my leather shoes,
which I love, so it can be used for a variety of things
other than just polishing fishing rods, so I recommend
this one too. It’s a product that’s sold in large
quantities in bags. So, this is the perfect fishing rod I
prepared this time. I wonder if there will be an occasion to
use it this year? I’ll try using it when I can, and even if
it doesn’t match the size of the ayu, I’d like to give a
more detailed impression. If possible, I’d like to
catch a perfect 23cm size in the rapids, but I’m not sure
that’s possible with the Uono River this year, so I’ll
try using it when I can. So, thank you for watching
again this time.
