Mets vs. Giants Game Highlights (7/27/25) | MLB Highlights
The New York Mets who have won six in a row will try to sweep the Giants. A team struggling Seal. The mascot has gotten into the mascot Hall of Fame. So the celebration on the field for Seal and there is the Hall of Famer. It’s matt Gauge left hander, it’s bullpen, but he’s going to get the first inning for the Giants. He never reached the majors after he was drafted. And Then he went to AAA Independent ball bounced all the way around and it looks like he’s going to get a one pitch ground ball out from, don’t think he can start any better. You can see right behind home plate, all of the Hall of Fame to join the Giants mascot Lucille, who was named the Hall of Fame inductee today. Here’s batting right, strike three. Matt Gauge paints at 93 and away facing Juan Soto beat it into the ground, staying down on it, Tom smith for Matt Gauge, 10 pitches, retiring the side in order to the bottom of the first inning, Matz did not score against matt Gauge and so it is Kody Sanga Day for the New York Mets 32 year old right hander in his third Mets season making start. Number 16, Jung Ho Then Elliott Ramos and Rafi Devers. There’s your defensive guy, Alonso swallows it up and Lee is retired on the ground ball from Senga Giants. Base runner will come up to third caught by mauricio and he looks the runner back to first without making a throw. So a second out for that was a bullet off Devers bat. He didn’t even have time to drop the bat. That’s how quickly it got out to Mauricio his hands up after that ball was caught by mauricio and is still running a little toasty over there hit hard on one hop to third, grabbed by mauricio Flings the short way to second in time to get the lead runner and the side is retired. Zenga scoreless his first inning. Here is Jeff mcneil chapman moves in about 2 ft off of the grass at third. Now, a little closer. This one is nearly off the bag. Do smith Dominator start tonight at first base for Do Smith. He takes one away from his former team. So a break for chapman 2 to 2 that’s called strike three and another one on the corner. Well, Tom smith has made a nice play in the field and now he’s at the plate one out, two strikes, Jassy big lead. He goes smith, he finds the vacated shortstop position. Lior went over to cover at a perfectly executed run by Yastrzemski and smith foul the hole when went to cover the bag. Giants are really struggling to get things going offensively. Sometimes you have to put guys in motion. Here’s Patrick Bailey bottom of the second. No score giants threatening swing and a miss, guess what? Fork ball in the dirt and Bailey the latest victim two outs in the second inning. And that’s trust on Alvarez as well to be able to block the ball. That’s something that he went down on. Here’s the nine man skinny lefty Brett Wiseley. No score. Bottom two runners at the corners. He picks up the strikeout wisely with another fork balls. Six, a fork in chapman Bailey and wisely strikes out three and leaves a pair and Then the Mets have back to back base hits to kick start the top of the third inning. And the order flips for Brandon Nimmo to bat for the second time. 10, what a play at second by we to first. They do not get the double play. Wiseley looked like he was moving towards his right and had to reach back to his left. He saved a run. So here’s 1st and 3rd with one away and Francisco Lior, an opportunity to give the Mets an early lead and a high chopper. Will there be one play? Yes. At first base Lindor out Mets on the board as Alvarez touches home. So here’s soto with a runner at second base here it comes again and he is, that was a good job to limit the damage. The Mets get just the one with their big hitters up there and a chance to open the game up a little bit double of the season for Jeff and the Mets have a runner in scoring position for Starling Marte. Another one, same spot, same pitch and that keeps coming. Carlos Mendoza is going to have to start barking a little bit from the dugout ball four just missed with a sinker. Marte wins the battle a 10 pitch walk and the Mets at 1st and 2nd with one away for Brett Beatty and Bob Melvin is letting Ryan Blakeney hear it. Oh two check swing. He will go to short and in and out of trouble in the top of the fourth inning so far, so good for Kody SGA 48 pitches through three innings. One thing that James could do to help their cause and look, we, we understand it’s Oracle Park. This is the toughest or certainly one of the toughest home run parks. Chapman blast one left field is gone. Matt chapman ties the game with one swing and that’s right. What we were saying, James hadn’t hit a home run in the series until Then. That’s one way to forget about the runners in scoring position. Just hit one out. Matt Chapman did, man, did he crush that thing? Second walk in the inning and here comes Jeremy Hefner and Hiro Fujiwara for a chat with SS. He’s just not trusting his stuff in the strike zone. He has walked five ties, a season high ties, a career high with the Mets. Jung leaves turn turned into a long innings on, popped up on the infield, third base side. Lior waves everybody off. He makes the catch a couple of steps out of the outfield grass for the final out in this marathon fourth inning. But here he settles with a double but a good two base hit to get the Met started. Mauricio will try to get him to third. It’s hard hit ground ball base hit down the first base line past the diving to smith Alvarez scores yassi trips mauricio to second with a go ahead RB I double 2 to 1 Mets. I certainly would love to gets through five A I would say because the guy that hit a home run last time up matt chapman. Now there’s a high drive in the deep center field way back there still going way back run for matt chapman, his second of the game. He went deep on him last time up. That’s why Mendoza was wondering , what do I do? What do I do? He decided to stick with Sanga and Chapman sticks it into the bullpen. And for the first time in this game have gone ahead, hit on the ground to second and he’s got it the first in time inning over but now is the giants who jump back in front, Randy Rodriguez is back to work to face Ronnie mauricio as this ball is sailed towards the kayaks and he said it is a fair ball. We had a splash hit, get on it. Kayak Mauricio stood there and he pulled a Carlton Fisk just on the right field line saying fair ball. And how about the bottom of the order for the Mets soto is zero for three tonight and swung on and crushed the opposite way to left Ramos going back, warning track wall out of room and gone opposite field. Go ahead solo shot for juan Soto. And the Mets have gone deep twice against Randy Rodriguez and have taken a 43 lead, Ronnie Mauricio, a four hit day in San Fran, single two doubles homer and he has sent the Mets up with a big insurance run at second base to start the ninth inning. His day is done. Luis Angel is going to come in to run for him is going to come in. There is a clutch hit with a runner in scoring position from brandon 53 Mets in San francisco. Edwin Diaz on to try to close it out hall on the field was hit by pitch. The review says stands and it’s 1st and 2nd two walks and now all of a sudden it’s starting to come apart for the Mets last chance two down and chapman Mets sweep the series and win their seventh in a row with the bases loaded. Diaz bear down and got adam and Chapman to win the game.
