Brewers vs. Mariners Game Highlights (7/23/25) | MLB Highlights
Brewers get another look at Luis Castile. He takes the ball every fifth day. He is the definition of what a good starter is, what an ace is because he shows up every five days and gives you an opportunity to win each and every start. Balling two strikes to terrain coming up his first career four strikeout performance last night. Julio given some ground but has an easy beat on it. So one away for the Brewers here in the top of the first inning. The month of July can be interesting for a lot of guys, right? Like where all of a sudden you call it the dog days. Career 273 erra in the month of July for Luis Castillo. Swing and a miss as that moves away from Contraras at 96 mph strikeout today for Luis Castillo. So Yelich gets a board with two outs here in the top of the first inning and that’ll bring up right fielder Jackson Cheerio. Swing and a miss right three. Luis Castile gets Cheerio with a fast balls. Two strikeouts for Luis to start things off. Last nine games for Priesters. 7 and0 252 ERA. Making his 14th start, his 19th appearance of the year. Boy has he been good. Eight-2 with a 3.33 ERA and two very quick outs. He’s thrown just five pitches. And here’s Randy Rosarena. On the ground is short. Ortiz throws him out. It’s a one, two, three inning for Quinn Pster. Isaac Collins leads it off for the Brewers in the number five spot again. One out of seven in the series. Ground ball back up the middle. Leadoff single on a first pitch. Fast ball from Castillo. If he’s going to give it, the Brewers are going to take it. Match their hit total from the entire night last night in the first inning. plus four straight lefties that Castillo has to navigate in this lineup. There’s a base hit down the right field line as Collins will go from first to third. Black makes a turn. He’s headed for second. Here’s the throw. It’s offline. A double for Tyler Black. The Brewers are set up now against Luis Castillo. Second and third with nobody out here in the second. What about the Brewers already with more hits just six batters into the game than they had in the whole game last night. Perkins left center. Well hit. It is back and it is off the top of the fence. Two runs will score. Perkins drives in a pair. It’s two nothing Milwaukee. Getting all over Castillo in the second inning. Starting to get curious why Castillo is throwing so many fast balls. Every Brewer walking up to the plate going I’m going to see a fast ball and I’m not going to miss it. Perkins didn’t miss this one. And as we head to the bottom half of the second and designated hitter, Cory Palanco to lead it off. This is fair by about a foot. Kicks off the short wall. Palanco makes the turn as that ball dives in right field. It’s a leadoff double set the table for the Mariners in the home second. Here’s Domone. Big run out there at second base. And Palanco the swing of the drive deep into the gap in right center field down for extra bases. Here comes Palanco running third being waved in. He’ll score. Kzone will coast into second base with a huge two out RBI double. The Mariners get on the board. It’s now the Brewers two and the Mariners won. And now he represents the tying run out there in scoring position. Here’s Ben Williamson looking for a base hit that would tie up this game. Let’s see. Will this drop in no man’s land? The Bermuda Triangle can’t get to it. Pair of two out base hits to drive in a pair of runs. And we see the Brewers do that to teams all the time, but it hurts when it happens to you. Isaac Collins starts things off the Brewers. Get on the ground. The shorts stop JP Crawford and he just flat out boots it and it goes into center field. Whoa. Ground ball right to him and he missed the ball. Isaac Collins is aboard to lead off an inning again. That one on an E6. The Mariners have been charged with four errors in this series now. Takes down an in. Gets away from Garber. Free 90 ft for Collins. I guess a free 180 ft after that air. And then now a wild pitch. Brewers have man in scoring position. And it’ll take something with two outs from Anthony Seagler if the Brewers are to capitalize on that error. And he gets hit. Ooh. 97 right in the middle of the back. Ouch. Two on, two out. Collins still at second. Seagler at first. And here’s Joey Ortiz. Brewers have had some good swings against Castillo trying to get one to fall and bring Collins home. Liner into right. A base hit. Collins sent around third. Going to be a play at home. Here it comes. And the slide save just in time. Collins got the hand down. I I don’t know how he did that. I mean, the throw beat him by plenty. That’s a heck of a slide, isn’t it? Isaac knew it. He popped up and made the the safe signal. He knew he was safe. And Tang is 0 for two. This a big spot to try to add on. Terang slow roller third base side. Going to be a tough play and no play. Another run comes across for the Brewers on an infield single. Castillo can’t believe it. This is Brewers baseball to a tea here in this fourth inning. Now the nation’s kind of waking up to what the Brewers are able to do and impact a game every time they swing the bat in some capacity. So two unearned runs at least. They’re on the corners with two out for William Contrarus. Try to keep the rally going. Liner and Crawford can’t come up with it. Another run scores. Terang’s on his way to third. It’s 52. The Brewers have had three straight two out RBI singles. All unearned runs. all on the board nonetheless. And back-to-back hits to lead off this fifth inning against Castillo. Got to imagine you’re going to start seeing some action in that Mariners bullpen rather quickly. Here’s Tyler Black. Black ground ball left side under the glove of Crawford. That’ll score Churio. 6-2 Brewers on the second hit of the day for Tyler Black. One hit after another with men on base and that’s when they count. And man, it is a hit parade today here in Seattle for the Brewers. That is their 12th hit of this game. Jackson with a hit in his last at bat. Now a 17game hitting streak for Jackson Cheerio. It’s been impressive. Lined into a shallow right. It’s a base hit. Terra will try and score. The throw from Kzone is late. Throw back to first. Churio’s back. It’s 72. An RBI single for Cheurio. 15 hits for the Brewers. used two extra base hits. Ortiz is two for four. Everybody in the lineup has at least one hit. Well, he broke the scoreboard. Did their Brewers offense broke the scoreboard. Terraang 244. Fly ball right center. Can zone puts his head down. It’s going to be an extra base hit for Bryce Terang. Two runs will score. Put another quarter in the mer. It’s nine to2. Brewers with two more two out runs. They have scored in four straight innings. This one softly hit and it gets by Crawford. Another run will score. It’s 10 to2 Brewers. JP Crawford having a really tough day at short. Now that ball was hit pretty well with some funk on it, but Contras picks up his third hit. There’s one away here in the eighth and that’ll get Julio Rodriguez to the plate. One, two, is a ground ball backhanded by the third baseman Seagler. Throws off balance to first dug out by Black in time. Oh wow. That was not a routine play by any definition of the term. Backhanded behind the bag by Seagler. Had to get rid of it quickly, so couldn’t get as much on the throw as he wanted. And a great stretch and scoop. Mariners scored just three runs in this series. 32 got him looking. Ball game over. And the Brewers take the series against Seattle. They’ve won 12 of their last 13 ball games. They go out west and go five and one on the road trip and sole possession of first place in the Central. 10 runs on 17 hits, 14 singles. Pretty incredible stuff. And speaking of incredible, Quinn Pster, seven strong innings, two runs, seven strikeouts. The defense was on point.
