In the third inning with the score at 1-0 and runners on first and second, Takahiro Matsuba (Chunichi) threw a 133 km/ cutter on the second strike, and he swung and missed with a powerful swing that landed on his bottom. Kakefu commented, “That’s a good swing. He’s aiming for the MVP.”

With one ball and two strike, Tonmiya swung at the fourth pitch, fastball on the inside, and hit the left pole for a three-run homer. Kakebu commented, “I think it was a bit jammed right now. That’s why I don’t think it cut through. He swung hard. He didn’t even turn his wrist. He hit it by turning his body.”
