Rockies vs. Brewers Game Highlights (6/29/25) | MLB Highlights
It’s going to be Chad Patrick looking for a turnaround after he struggled a bit in his last three starts against the Braves Cubs and the Pirates in 15 innings of work. He’s given up 13 earned runs that includes four homers. So he’s looking to keep the ball in the ballpark and ball four. So that’s three straight plate appearances for Freeman that he’s drawn a walk to see if the Rockies can build a little inning here. Ground ball for two here to the bag Ortiz in the throw to first is not in time. Brewers do get the lead out Estrada that goes and it’s a base hit to the right side. It did not hit him. Got a safe sign from Adrian Johnson. That was close. Obviously, if that hits him he’s out. So Taro makes his 1st 3rd on a bullet through the right side opportunity for the Rockies and given what transpired or did transpire in the way of offense yesterday. Take advantage here 1st and 3rd 1 out Mcmahon at the plate and he got him wiped him out slider and his best one yet long battle with Mcmahon, but Patrick hangs tough has a chance to post to zero if you can get Brenon Doyle Patrick’s 32nd pitch and closes out the first with a strikeout. He had to work for it but two nasty sliders get him back to back cases to end the first inning making his 17th start of the year. 386. a but what I found interesting to him, the batting average against just 100 80 here, Sal free is going to lead things off for Milwaukee. Sal gets j a little flair that is going to fall a base hit. He gets a lot of those. He comes in eighth in the national league in batting average and he is aboard with a single to start this one and that brings up Chio. This is popped up easy play on the left side for Ryan Mcmahon one out. Christian Jelic all weekend Friday night rocks did a really good job holding runners on yesterday. They didn’t really have an opportunity. We’ll see if her really struggled with holding runners on to first. They got him picked off. Tolia runs him down to second, got him in a run down and he is tagged out by the second baseman. That a good job. Quick feet by Marquez Frelick was trying to do his best Francisco Lior where he was trying to roll into that stolen base. Good job in the run bounced to Mcmahon and is thrown out by a step and it turns into a 123 inning despite the knock by Freeland three straight strikeouts for Patrick. As moniak steps up, this ball is tagged to deep right field and is off the base of the wall. Mickey running hard the whole way is going to slide into second with a double. So a one out double for moniak off the base of the right field wall. So it’s out number two, it does get a runner to third base with two outs. And now let’s see with two outs , if the former Brewer Orlando Arcia might be able to get a run drills that one to center field , but Chio is right there and Patrick strands another runner in scoring position, two scoreless innings for Chad Patrick the next pitch to Freeman. He takes it for a called third strike and he is not happy with it. Just got run by SCR. We’ve seen Warren, I get it. Tyler freeman is a mild mannered guy, competitive guy to run him that quickly. That’s disrespectful to the player. Quite frankly, it’s disrespectful right now to the, wants to know exactly what freeman said. A two seamer at the bottom. It does catch the strike zone. It’s not well received by Contreras. Let’s just watch Freeman. He’s like he’s upset body language wise. You’ve seen far, far more with a player before they get two outs in the inning. Patrick needs a quick inning here. Randa strikes out best inning yet Patrick starting to dial it in 10 pitch inning for Chad Patrick picks up two more strikeouts. He’s got five in the game after a one out walk gets himself in the scoring position for Chur chance for the Brewers to put a run on the board. Doesn’t matter. Strikeout of chris second strikeout for Herman safely navigates to third. No score going to the fourth. Take a look at this pitch right on the edge with the cut fastball to the back door instead of one out, nobody on. Chad Patrick has to pitch around some traffic again here in the fourth and a bouncing ball to third Durbin to second first and they turn two Brewers go around the horn and two for the price of one for Chad Patrick Michael to 11 is hit back up the middle and into center field for a base hit. Hattrick couldn’t get it and it had enough pace that neither could tang the second baseman Rockies get their third hit. Mickey Moniak who has the only extra base hit and he got him. Patrick wipes him out with that slider been a good pitch for him. Six Ks for Patrick Patrick with four scoreless innings. He’s got six strikeouts to his first four. He’s back out for the fifth. Frankston Fulford is coming up and this is going to drop for a base hit Fulford with a good turn at first. He heads back to Rod Gideon and it’s a leadoff single in the fifth Arcia flying to deep center his first time up Arcia strikes out. That’s number seven for Patrick the first out of the fifth inning Sam Hilliard bats for the first time and the throw goes into center field bounces up. He’s going to end up at third. Contreras with a good throw is probably going to get him. That’s the first career stolen base for Braxton, surprising probably everyone. And most notably, Contreras needs to make a pitch here. 3 to 2. Here he comes and he got him, struck him out with a fastball. Two outs in the inning. That’s Chad Patrick to a T now. He’s got one more out to get little tapper Patrick over, got to play sets his feet throw to first is perfect. Chad Patrick, a grinder of an outing today. Bottom of the sixth inning here in Milwaukee. What a job Herman Marquez has done so far five scoreless. He’s going to start with Joey Ortiz, the shortstop number nine hitter, Joey Ortiz hits this ball well to right and Hilliard on the warning track makes the catch first out in the sixth inning and the lineup flips over to Freeland. Here’s free from the right field. Did he get it? Puts the Brewers on the board birdie hits a slide in the first run of the game and the summer of Sal continues here in Milwaukee 2 to 2 to Jackson Chio. That’s right down the middle at 97 strikeout. Number five for her. Here’s Jelic. Jelic is 0 to 2.A ground out to third and a strikeout looking at Jelic deep into left field, that’s got a chance. Christian Jelic one second homer of the inning for the crew and it’s two nothing two out two strike home run for number 22 and another opposite field home run for Yelly extends the hitting streak to 12 in a row for Jelic. Here we go to the eighth inning and it is the flame throwing Abner Uribe Ryan Mcmahon zero for two with a walk ground ball and doesn’t get any help from the first baseman hoskins back to second. Honestly, one of the better plays. I’ve seen the shortstop make and to make a quick transfer and a good throw. I’m glad he didn’t make it, but Hoskins needs to catch that baseball if you’re a Milwaukee fan and now it’s Brenton Doyle, the tying run. Here’s the, this ball line to right center field and it’s going to get down and kick off the wall. Rockies on the board. Doyle in his second with a double. Finally, the Rockies take advantage and finally the droughts over in the eighth inning on Sunday, their first run since an eighth inning, two spot on Friday. Trevor mcgill is 18 for 20 in save opportunities this year looking for number 19 here right now, it’s Orlando the last chance for Colorado and this ball is well hit to left field is gone. How about that? Orlando Arcia has tied it up two outs in the ninth inning against his former club. That’s just the second homer of the year mcgill has given up the curveball hung and Arcia got the head out, hooked it and said revenge Halverson grinding through in this bottom half of the ninth inning. He’s got one out, two men on base and Collins at the plate, that’s a strikeout. That is out number two and it’s Caleb Durbin two and two with two outs bottom of the ninth and Durbin on the ground. Slow roller going to be a tough play and no play. Everybody. Durbin puts the ball in play keeps the inning alive. They are loaded with two outs. Here’s Ortiz 0 to 2. The walk today slider popped up foul ground. I think there’s a play for to there is we’ll go extra innings. Seth Halverson leaves the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth. Two balls, two strikes. Mcgill got to come up with a big one here and that one’s hit well , left field hooking Collins on the run. Collins runs it down. What a catch. He broke the wall. Now the throw gets away. McGill cuts it off. That’s a huge play. How about the catch Isaac Collins? Unbelievable catch. Go ahead, run at third base. Now, one out and here’s Tyro Estrada contact hitter and a base hit to right here comes Hilliard. The Rockies take a 3 to 2 lead third into the ballgame for Tyro Frelich ready to lead off and on the ground to get the runner over to third race to the look at. So no in the ground, Frelick beats it out for an infield hit. There’s Jackson Chio now and that’s in the dirt. Gets away, coming to the plate. Got this job, we are tied. Chur draws the wall and it’s going to bring up Jelic. Just the guy you want to play ground ball right at. There’s one on to first double play. Did you ask for a 543 a moment ago? I did and I hope it. Dan Murphy got the hand up. I thought he beat it. It’s close. Is there enough to overturn foot on the bag? Man? I don’t know if I’m not sure there’s enough, but we’ll see they have multiple angles they can look at in the replay. Centerfield overturn the runner 1st and 3rd and here is Contreras. We pop this one up that’s into shallow, right center field. Coming on is Hilliard. He’s going to make the catch. Runners have to hold, he’ll fire it in. But the runners hold it 1st and 3rd 2 down. Still tied at three end it right here. 1 to 2, swung on and miss what a job by victor Vot one away. Doyle, very fast runner at second base. Third at bat for farmer pinch hit. And stayed in at the eight spot for moniak mid game up. The middle base hit Doyle around third. He’ll score easily. Kyle Farmer coming through 43. Colorado. Good job kyle Farmer. Here’s Fulford full count. Runner goes swing and a miss throw to second and it’s in time. Strike him out, throw him out. Contreras cuts one down from his knees, throws down to their last out here tying run at second. Here’s caleb Durbin out there for be and the Rockies have won it. Tyler Kley nails it down the Rockies in 11 shot the Brewers 4 to 3.
