FRANCHISE RECORD 8-HOMER game for the Cubs! 💪 (HRs from Suzuki, PCA, Busch, Kelly and Swanson)

Bring up Seyas Suzuki the DH today. DH is most days. Still plays some outfield, but his 73 runs batted in are the most in the major leagues. And it’s one in the air to left pretty deep. He bars back. This one’s going to fly. Long gone into the bleachers. Sea Suzuki says it’s one- nothing Cubs. Let me tell you something, Weezy. As a man that’s given up a lot of home runs, I know ball flight. That ball was squared up. Michael is trying to hunt that sinker in a half. Suzuki just pulls the hands through and supplies the power. Outstanding. And back. And this is what the Cup lineup has been doing all season long. I think he’s going to be an all-star when they announce the rosters on Sunday. Well, if Pete Pro Armstrong gets to 30 home runs, it’s very likely he’ll be just the second Cub in history to have a 3030 year. Sammy Sosa did it in 1993 and 1995. And he cracks this one out to right. This one is deep. Back forward is Berles and it’s gone into the front row. It’s backto back homers for Seya Suzuki and PCA. the bad young man DCA still raising a roof. Listen, from 90% of the hitters in Major League Baseball, that’s a double off the wall. But because of his strength and his bat speed, he can muscle it. carving his own path to 3030 with his 22nd home run. He’s still on pace for a 4040 year, which no Cub has ever done. The Cubs go back to back in the first. Suzuki and Crow Armstrong helping the Cubs get out to a two nothing lead.
Was there for him, but the execution wasn’t. So, I think he went more to a four seam throw. Very important.
There’s Michael Bush teeing off. The Cubs have hit three home runs to start. What I tell you about him? You told me about PCA 2 nothing easy, but I told you about Michael Bush and how good this young man is and getting a chance to finally play every day. He’s excellent defensively and he can do that all day long. He’s a supreme hitter and he likes playing in the background. He doesn’t have to have all the star power notoriety, but he’s a weapon down there in the lineup.
His 15th home run and Miles Michael is serving them up. Hot dogs on the 4th of July. Carson Kelly at the plate now. There’s another rocket. Carson Kelly on the 4th of July. The Cubs have hit four home runs. You don’t need to wait till night time for the fireworks. The fireworks have showed up at Ridley right now. Wow. [Applause] and Wayne as a pitcher, you’re looking at these highlights right now. These are just poor misses within the strike zone and he’s he’s done a good job really all season long being able to get ahead, but the one mistake always he never gets away with.
Pete Kr Armstrong might be that kind of caliber of excitement on that Sammy Sosa level here at Wrigley. This is impacting the joy that he played with his father.
There’s another one. It’s PCA on the 4th of July. Firework score. You hope to get 4040, Wayne. Is that what you mentioned? You hope to get 40 40. He’s going to be 3030 at the Allstar break, Wayne. This kid’s a star. You called it. I’m a man. I admit when I was wrong. Not saying he wasn’t going to be a star, but you called it last year, man. Wow. Pete Krill Armstrong telling you the 2016 Cubs did something that they’ve been waiting for forever around here, but no one single player brings the excitement to Wrigley Field since Sammy Sosa.
He’s playing with a lot of confidence.
There’s another drop. Michael Bush is second of the day. What a ridiculous start for the Cubs. They’ve hit six home runs. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Wayne, that ball is squared up. But when you look at the replay as a pitcher, you just can’t miss in the zone that Michael is missing with the type of stuff that you possess. This is the bottom line. They’re hunting early in the count. Michael Bush has seen only two pitches.
First time that all three starting outfielders in an all-star game had 500 or more homers. Well, here’s another homer. It’s Dansby Swanson. Lucky number seven for the Cubs today. And how cool is that, Wayne? The fan that caught the baseball has a Swanson jersey on and so everybody’s getting souvenirs today, especially here in the Cubs uniform. It’s a record tying seven homers in a game for the Cubs. And it’s number seven Danby Swanson who cashes in on the last one. Cubs lead it 10 to one.
The Cubs have the one of the easiest schedules remaining in all of baseball and so you’re going to see this more.
Here’s a fly ball left center field pretty deep back is new and it’s gone. It’s eight home runs in a game for the first time in the history of the Chicago Cubs. I told you, Wayne, there was going to be postseason energy in this ballpark today. Did I lie to you? Easy. The crowd just reacted to the video board showing that today was a historic one. An eight homer game for the Cubs for a franchise that dates back all the way to the beginning of the National League in 1876. They have broken their alltime single game home run record. And Michael Bush has hit three of them. Congrats, Ben. [Applause]

Seiya Suzuki (No. 24), Pete Crow-Armstrong (Nos. 22 and 23), Michael Busch (Nos. 15, 16, 17), Carson Kelly (No. 10) and Dansby Swanson (No. 15) all homer for the Chicago Cubs to set a new franchise record! This game included three different innings of back-to-back home runs.
