In the air to center field. Merrill going back towards the wall. He leaps and Merrill makes the catch in center field. Oh, that’s Jackson Merrill. A little Merrill madness. Time to catches. It brings it back.
Catch of the year candidate for Jackson Merrill.
Dick has swung at the first pitch, John, in 16 of his last 25 plate appearances. Now, to his credit, he is hitting 466 on the first pitch this year. Lines that one the deep left field. Does it have enough height? It does. Solo home run.
Hit the first pitch.
They sure did. It’s his 10th home run of the year. And the Phillies are on top four nothing. That’s just beautiful. That’s a line drive about 340 something feet.
And Zach Wheeler will be pitching into the eighth inning for the first time this year. Wheels is ready to go. Looks back at second. Swing and a miss. He got him.
And what a way to finish for Zack Wheeler tonight. His 10th strike out of the night as he goes eight scoreless innings.
Two down for Jazz Chisum Jr.
That one is driven to right field off the bat of Chisum and that ball is gone. A bullet two-run home run for Chisum. He just keeps going. It’s two nothing Yanks.
And now the Blue Jays have the tying run at second base with nobody out in this inning.
And a ground ball into left field. A base hit. Schneider will score. Straw slides into third. An RBI single for Lucas to make it a one-run game.
First and third, one out. Top of the order for the Blue Jays. Ernie Clemens up. Swinging a bouncing ball to deep short. Coming home straw. Deep throw from Bulby. Not in time. Traffic here for Rasmuson with two A’s on and Shay Langalers coming back up.
The 2-1 pitch that’s swung on. Welcome back. Driving a deep left center. Morell looks up and it is gone. Three-run shot for Langalers. How about that for your first at bat back in 25 days and there was no doubt about it off the bat. Here is Junior Commonro is having quite a year.

Magnum crosses the plate. Curts came crashing in and could not field the ball cleanly. And just like that, the Rays have tied this game.
Laow at second, low at the plate into left field and it’s going to get in front of Kobby Thomas. Here comes the throw home. The tag made Thomas. Welcome to the big leagues. What a big play in a tight ball game.
That goes 72 on the put out. It’s still a 44 game. It’s now second and third with one out.
And here’s Lawrence Butler.
The pitch that’s swung on. Fly ball left center and it’s going to fall in for a base hit. Go all the way to the wall. Muny is in. Schuman comes in to score. Digging for third is Butler. He’s in there with a triple. And it’s 64 Athletics. Lawrence Butler a two-run triple here in the ninth off Fairbanks. And the A’s retake the lead. One- nothing Royals with the lead.

Randy Arosena number 100 in his career. A little history for Randy. And the Mariners have tied it. So the Mariners now have him on the corners with one out for Rosarena in hard center field. This is really bounced back. It’s his second home run tonight. Randy Rosarena a threerun bomb to blow it open. Number 100 in the fourth and now he starts another sentry mark with 101. Cal Rley going to lay things off for the Mariners in the seventh. Deep out to right center field. Does he get enough of it? Yes. The Rangers are in their fourth straight extra inning game. Gunnar Henderson, Raone Lauriano, the automatic runner at second.
Henderson drills it to right field. Deep in the heart of Texas, the Orioles take a two-run lead. Gunner Henderson blasts off the three 0. Cowser cracks one deep to right field. And you can say goodbye to that one. A long missile to right off the batser swinging away on 3 and 0. It’s 6 to3 Orioles.

And there’s a swing and a drive and it’s deep to left and it’s gone off the facade of the second deck. It is tied. El Bumpy,
the master of the dramatic. Adoleis Garcia has done it time and time again.
It’s an 8-6 Orioles lead right now.
Second at bat in as many extra innings.

He’s got four RBI’s in extra innings. Now the Reds will truly concede another run with Trevor’s story up there. Second and third, one down. Here’s the pitch and a high drive to the center field. This thing is crushed at the track at the wall. Gone. Threerun homer straightaway center for Trevor Story and the Red Sox lead it 5 nothing in the first. 0 and two to Abrau. It’s 0 for two tonight, but he’s hit it hard. He drives one high and deep into right center field towards the Red Sox bullpen. It is back and it is off the top of the wall and it cars into center field. This could be an inside the park homer. A brand third. He gets the go ahead. He comes home. Head first slide inside the park homer for William Abrau. Well, you miss getting it out by about 6 in. The baseball gods pay him back and it’s 8 to four.
Well, here comes Willy. Willard is one for four tonight with the inside to park home run. He’s got a man at every base. Two down. The pitch is driven high into right field. This thing is back and it is out of here. A slam for a brau. his second homer of the night and it is 135. Didn’t have to run as hard on this one, Willie.

Giants still trying for that hit to get them on the board. Fitzgerald had some encouraging swings his last time off
and he drives this one deep into right center field and it’s off the glove and everybody’s on the move. This game is tied. It’s two to two. Tyler Fitzgerald do not wait around. Radio Suarez leads off for the Dbacks. Arizona leads it three to2 bottom of the Suarez hits a fly ball to left. It’s going and it’s gone. We know it’s Gino and it’s four to two. his 26th of the year. A drive to right center field for Spencer Horowitz. And clear the deck. Cannonball coming. That’s the way to be a leadoff hitter. Get your second home run as a Pirate and give you a quick one- nothing lead. Turn that lineup over for the third time now. Top of the order. First and second, nobody out. Let’s see if we can get something going here.
3-2 swing. Fly ball to left field deep. Donovan back. Racing back on it. It’s over his head. It’ll be dumped off the wall touching third. Bart. He’s on his way home. Kinder Fa on his heels. He’s in there, too. Two-run double for Horwitz. He’s driven in all three. Three nothing Pirates.
Here is Key Brian Hayes. Six for his last 10 with runners in scoring position. And a line drive base hit into center field. Key Brian Hayes another two-run single. This is unbelievable. What is going on? It’s six to nothing. What has gotten into the Pittsburgh Pirates?
