Sandy Alcantara Blockbuster Trade to Los Angeles Dodgers?! Shohei Ohtani RETURNS To Pitching!
the Los Angeles Dodgers have had a plethora of pitching injuries and I know Show Otani he’s returning tomorrow but they could be looking to make a trade deadline addition regardless of the status of their guys because you can have never have too much pitching depth once it comes time for the postseason and one name to keep an eye on is former Sai Young award winner Sandy Alcantra now the numbers look rough the VO’s good he’s still getting some ground balls but other than that the peripherals do not look good and also the real numbers don’t look good either he has a 714 ERA and believe it or not that’s actually down over a run and a half from the last week to two weeks he had an ERA in the upper eights and he’s had a couple good starts to get back on track obviously his seven ERA isn’t back on track but maybe it can be a sign of things to come and if you have him working with the Dodgers pitching lab Mark Prior he’s great at what he does the Dodgers they’re great at identifying what they want in pitchers then I don’t think anyone would be surprised to see a former Sai Young and Sandy Alcantra get traded to the Dodgers and then have a lot of success with the Dodgers when you’re talking about the injuries they’re going to have Shi Otani pitch tomorrow yamamoto’s been healthy clayton Kershaw has actually been one of their workh horses believe it or not but Roki Sasaki his status for the rest of the season as a whole with his shoulder is unknown tyler Glass now Blake Snell they should be returning at some point in the near future but you can never count on them to stay healthy for a full season and you just want to make sure that you have enough guys for October last year they won the World Series but it was relying on a rookie Yamamoto Walker Beller giving you what he had and then a bunch of bullpen games they definitely don’t see that as a sustainable formula to keep going deep in October as the offense can only do so much sometimes so Sandy Alcantra especially if it can be a buy low can make a lot of sense and of course the Dodgers are amazing at the big league level but their farm system is also great so they can make this work and barely even feel it they wouldn’t feel it at all at the big league level he’s got some control left they can look to identify something and have a bounce pack performance by Sandy Alcantra and I think this could be a great
