Today’s starting pitcher for the Hawks was Tomohisa Ozeki, facing off against the Dragons’ highly touted rookie left-hander, Yumeto Kanemaru. Ozeki got off to a brilliant start, retiring the side in order in each of the first 3 innings. With great tempo and command, he set the tone early, and the Hawks’ offense backed him up with a 4-run outburst in the 1st inning. Though he allowed baserunners in the middle innings, he stayed composed and kept the Dragons off the scoreboard. He closed out his outing with a quick 1-2-3 7th inning. Over 7 innings and 108 pitches, Ozeki gave up just 3 H, 6 K, and didn’t allow a run—getting his 4th win of the season!!
