Orix has announced that it will hold a collaborative match with the Japan Sumo Association during the Hiroshima games from June 3rd (Tuesday) to 5th (Thursday).

During the event, decorations reminiscent of sumo championship plaques and flags will be displayed inside and outside the stadium. Images of the 10 The Buffaloes players transformed into sumo wrestlers and designs of their shikona (sumo wrestling names) will decorate the Kyocera Dome Osaka Tournament. Throughout the three days, the main character “Hiyonoyama” from the Japan Sumo Association’s official mascot character “Hakkiyoi! Sekitori-kun” will be visiting, and on the first day, the 3rd (Tuesday), Osaka-born sumo wrestler Ura will be visiting and will liven up the game with a special opening pitch announced by a yobidashi.
