Crocheting during Garrett Crochet’s starts 🧶

All right. Hi, my name is Anna. I’ve been doing uh crocheting with crochet during all of crochet starts so far this season. Garrett crochet back out there and that means Anna Golrath is back to work. I’m working on a sweater and I start crocheting it uh at with the first pitch of the game and I put the sweater away whenever crochet is taken out of the game. I I decided to do a sweater because I at the end of the season, if we make the postseason, fingers crossed, I want to be able to wear it to a playoff game. So, the kit’s pretty light. I’ve got it in some plastic baggies today because we got some rain. So, in my crochet kit, I keep it simple. Um, I’ve got I’m working with a 5mm hook from Clover. Uh, crochet heads know that that’s a very nice, comfortable hook. I’m working with two different types of yarn. And I also have a container of stitch markers, but I accidentally left those at home. I measure it kind of in games done or really rows per inning. I actually finished up the first uh panel today. This is the first panel. It’s roughly 40 rows, so I do anticipate it’ll be probably about 28 starts worth of work. I am working in uh all double crochets. I’m doing what’s called a ripple stitch. I’m essentially increasing and decreasing the tension throughout the piece in order to get this like rippled effect. I think it’s a little bit cooler than like a a simple striped sweater. At the end of each start, I mic mark it with a stitch marker. You can sort of see like the um how long the starts can be by the uh distance between the markers. There’s a a marker here and then a marker here. So, I got an awful lot of work done there. I think that was during his no hip bid a couple of starts ago.
