positive note Mackenzie Gore 24 years of age fifth start of the Season Franny trying to bounce back from as we said not a bad outing his last time out but not his best against the Astros well it just wasn’t as crisp right wasn’t getting the swing and Miss with mie bets leading the way and mooki Pops this one out out to right calling for it and making the catch is Joey Gallow sh Otani a nine-game hitting streak a 22 game on Bas streak and then passed him at 98 three straight eaters from Mackenzie Gore to sit down Otani ready hitting 292 a homer and 15 runs batted in now the o2’s on the way swinging a ground ball to First reaching down for lwh hop manessis on the move toward the bag takes it himself and the inning is over an easy one two three inning for McKenzie Gore retiring bets Otani and Freeman on Yoshi no Yamamoto his last four starts specifically sort of removing the soul series Turn CJ Abrams leading off for the Nationals is CJ Abrams on the line to Freddy fre Freeman for the first out oh yep yeah he’s fine he’s fine he’s just on the transfer to whip the ball around the infield one out so Abrams is out one away it brings up Jesse Winker goes fast ball it’s in the air shallow left field Hernandez going back coming in Taylor Kik gets out of the way two down so now the batter is Joey manessis and Yamamoto pauses now pitches and he struck him out looking fast ball right at the hollow of the knee Andis doesn’t agree with Brian Walsh the home PL umpire he’s still letting him know about it 1 two three go the Nationals in the bottom of the first we head to the second scoreless second inning here in the nation’s capital no score tasa Hernandez leads off against McKenzie Gore bit of an uptick so far early in this game flirting with 97 98 milph and especially if he goes up in the zone real tough Hernandez gets good one on deep Fly ball left field watch it go ta into the bullpen that’s what we’re talking about one- nothing Dodgers after teoscar Hernandez launch number six on the year you talk about pitching and hitting and you know can a guy hit this and sequencing is is everything in this game now Kik with a base hit up the middle backto back hits for the Hernandez’s and the Dodgers keep the line moving in the second now he pokes one right center field that will drop down for a hit three in a row for La the Dodgers now have them cornered still nobody out gets a check swing and Taylor went too far in the air to right coming on is Joey Gallow he’s got a good arm tagging at third Hernandez but he’ll slam on the brakes Gore kicks the runner at first goes the pitch is hit in the air shallow center field coming on is Jacob young he will be there to make the catch and the inning is over Dodgers sent six men of the plate they score one run with three hits they leave runners in first and third that’s three great strikeouts for Yamamoto and there are two men down here in the second well National is going to have to make one adjustment and that is the fact here in the early going just watching he has been calling that curve ball to left-handed batters Eddie Rosario now the left fielder with the runner aboard still looking for his first hit here at Nationals Park pitch swung on popped up left side short left field Chris Taylor waiting for it and he’ll reach up and make the catch and it’s going to do it in the bottom of the second inning no runs no hits one left Rell double for Betts and a lead off runner at second for the Dodgers so here’s Otani swinging a Miss 97 running away from him this will be the eighth that he sees from McKenzie Gore Peaks on bets comes home to Freeman and misses outside Ball Four swing a ground ball Cho left side Vargas has it to Second for one Garcia to First there’s the double play he hit one there 543 around the horns so good job for Gore Works around the lead lead off double A hustle double for Jacob young the Nationals first hit in over nine innings is a double here’s CJ Abrams let’s see the onew from Yamamoto to Abrams it is a split into the center pz is there swung on a little Tapper to First Freddy Freeman will pick it up he’ll toss the Yamamoto covering and that’s the inning but a leadoff single for Kik here in the fourth ground ball to third Vargas to a dive flip over to second in time IL dearo Vargas got inserted into the lineup what 45 minutes before first pitch already a couple sparkling defensive plays ha has at first the two- two swinging a ground ball to short Abrams has it to Second for one Garcia to First inning over second straight inning Gore gets a double play that’ll help manage the pitch count a little bit first pitch leadoff double for manessis this is one the Nationals would love to take advantage of get him over get him in Luis Garcia the batter bat stuck out there by Garcia with the ball hangs up for Taylor running toward the line one out Fly ball to left field on a fast ball second out 3-2 strike three called that splitter worked and Gallow goes down looking so Yamamoto pitches around the leadoff double by Joey manessis G is in the thick of it Runners first and third one out and sh Otani coming up for’s one two three first inning the only one he’s had he kicks and delivers to Otani swing the ground ball right side Garcia backing shovels to Abrams on the first double play a double play to win the inning for the third straight inning some of these pitches that Yamamoto is throwing are just I mean they are perfect pitches Dodgers leading one- nothing still oh look out yoshinobu Yamamoto snares the line drive right back at his face made the catch on a missile of a line drive off the bat of Rosario oh my goodness bites this one off and drops it into left what can you do with that nothing you just got fredd got him curveball stayed up but it was effective and the first out here in the sixth is the strike out of Hernandez out to Right Center Jacob young tracking it into a dive he has it they’re going to throw in first and Freddy Freeman either thought that ball was down or he lost track of the number of outs regardless McKenzie Gore benefits from the fourth straight inning ending double play look at how much ground he needs to cover 85 ft he did he got 90 after the slide and a great throw to Joey Maness manessis moves to Second and Garcia a little Q shot off the end of the bat for an infield single swung on and a ground ball pass the M slowly hit Roos has it has to hustle it on to first he gets it there in time and the side is is retired we’d consider this the preferred side from him this year hitting 350 with a 908 Ops right-handed Q shot attempted by via and it gets away good job B slides in and a gift runner in scoring position for the Nationals with two outs here in the seven swings foul tips Nationals have a man 90 ft away first time in the game they’ve had a runner as far as Third Base cut it in half at least a bare minimum get to the ninth give yourself a chance ground ball up the middle and again that’ll get through almost identical to the ground ball he hit up the middle in the sixth this one has an RBI attached to it and then ATS her back within a run Joey manessis against ay doing what he does stays middle of the field big part of the field identical to his last AB with the hit that has got to feel good and there are two men down one out to again ground ball to short roas up that’s a sweep forella play Evan Phillips locks down his seventh save of the year the Dodgers take the game two to one
