“Yuki Kawamura × Ran Takahashi.” A part of the conversation and the shooting scene are shown! “This was taken in October 2023.” “How do you spend your off-days?” What does Yuki do on his off days? I spend my days off relaxing at home.
But lately my favorite way to spend time is to see a waterfall. Waterfall? I wanted to feel nature, I see waterfalls and feel negative ions. That’s how I spend my vacation. Basically, I spend my time at home. How do Takahashi players spend their time? I am the same.
I didn’t go to negative ions or anything like that. I’m always practicing and competing, so I like to take it easy on my days off. I only go shopping when my teammates invite me. I don’t go out much. I think all athletes do.
We’re all tired, and we all want to rest our bodies on our days off. “Where would you go if the two of you went out together?” Where would you go if it was just the two of us? We talked before about going to Disneyland together if we could go to Paris.
It would be great if we could go there. We were talking about how great it would be if we could go together. Do you like Disneyland? I like it. Can you ride a scream machine? Yes, I like scream machines. Can you ride a scream machine? Actually, I don’t like them very much.
So no Disneyland, then. But if Takahashi players get on. Ride a scream machine? I would like to ride with you too. There’s a lot more to Disneyland than just screaming machines. “What’s your favorite part about playing with each other?” When you pass the ball, at what point do you see the other players?
For example, when you make a no-look pass to someone behind you, Where are you looking? I get a lot of compliments from a lot of people about my vision. But I’ve never thought of myself as being that open-minded.
What’s more important is to always be looking at different places. I think it’s all about “perspective.” It is important to always watch and predict the movements of the opponent’s defense and the movements of your teammates. I think that by always watching those movements, you can make no-look passes, etc.
The ballet receivers are awesome. If a ball comes to me at such a fast speed, I’m first of all too scared to take it. I’d like to ask if the fear of receiving is still there. I’m also wondering what kind of training you do to be able to jump so much.
I think we all have our own fears of receivers. Even I, depending on the situation, sometimes I’m afraid of receivers. For example, when a player over 2 meters tall spikes me up close, I’m scared too.
When it comes to jumping ability, we ballet players can’t jump like we can when we dunk a basketball. The way we use our bodies is totally different. I don’t think a ballet player could probably dunk the way a basketball player could dunk the way a basketball player could fly.
I think a ballet player can dunk if he flies the way a ballet player does. Demonstration of receiving with Kawamura I thought he was a good receiver and a great athlete. “Which is more difficult to receive, a fast serve or a non-spinning serve?” I think the non-spinning is more difficult for me.
Of course, a serve with spin and over 120 km/h is faster and more difficult. I rather dislike serves that come with no spin and a strange trajectory. Is it okay to say that? It’s okay! You might get more non-rotating serves from here, right? That’s what I’m hoping for.
“How do you feel frankly about being selected to participate in the international tournament next year?” In the history of Japanese basketball, it was more difficult than anything else to qualify for next year’s international tournament on our own, I am very proud that I was able to achieve that.
I just need to win next year’s international competition. I think it’s very frustrating that if you don’t win, all the things you’ve built up won’t show up in the results or in the outcome. I am looking forward to a year of good preparation for my new goals for next year’s international convention.
I’ve also put this convention on the line to compete in next year’s international convention, so… Trying different things, spending a season in Italy, and so on, We have made various sacrifices. It was great that the result was to qualify for next year’s international competition.
But we still have some challenges in the game, etc. We still found what we need to seek for Japan to become stronger. I think we still have to get stronger. I felt both very happy and relieved. It was my goal, and I am happy to have achieved it. I feel relieved.
“How will you spend the year leading up to next year’s convention?” To improve on the issues that we were able to do this time. I haven’t changed much, and I think the next step is to keep pushing forward and growing in what we’ve done so far.
I think that I have to set my sights on one competition at a time, and grow as a person, and that will lead me to the next result. “If you could have one of each other’s talents, what would you want?” I would like the breadth of vision he has.
Does that come into play in ballet? It can be used in volleyball. It can be utilized for speed. I want the jumping power he has. I don’t have the jumping power I think if he had that jumping ability in ballet, he would have a wider range of basketball play.
“Takahashi said earlier that the jumps in ballet and basketball are different, what is the difference?” Volleyball jumps with both feet. But basketball is different. You don’t fly with both feet very much, you have one foot, right? I fly on one leg a lot. I honestly can’t fly with one leg
I can’t fly without this arm swing Flying with a bang on one foot is the difference between that and basketball. but I can’t fly in ballet either.
“What kind of response did you feel when you decided to compete in the international tournament next year?” I’m in the point card position, often referred to as the coach on the court. I have the role of being the heart of the team, regardless of age.
That’s why I was able to play basketball while communicating with players who are active domestically and internationally. It was a great experience more than anything else. I think it will help me in my future career In volleyball, age and experience determine the position you’re put in and the players you’re axed by.
I thought it was necessary for the team to win that I myself become the axis of the team. I experienced many things, and I experienced it in Italy, I always played and fought with the top players
I’m starting to set the axis of gaining experience, getting results in the national team, and gaining trust. I still think it all comes down to experience, gaining trust in the team, and gaining strength. That’s all I have to say, thank you very much. Thank you very much. Let’s pledge
Let’s give each other good results in Paris. Let’s make sure we get a good result in Paris. Let’s do our best
